Front End Vibration Noise ?
After delivery last year I took a trip to Phoenix which from Las Vegas and it was the worse highway I drove on I can remember. The road was paved in squares which felt like between every square the expansion joint was either over filled with tar or under filled. It was driving me nuts during the drive and I was thinking for sure this isn't good for a new car to be broke in this way. Finishing up the drive back to Vegas I was noticing a vibration noise developing coming off the front suspension. It was sounding like my wheel lug bolts had come loose. So now I'm at 8000 miles and after an DIY oil change and snooping around the front and DIY rotating the tires and using a rubber mallet trying to duplicate the vibration noise I never could nail anything down. Being back home on local roads I'd still hear the noise from time to time. This morning after a short trip to Post Office I was doing my dusting off with a duster and noticed my front hood was loose in closed position as I ran the duster over the hood. Then with my hand I put pressure at different points around the hood and found it was not seated on the rubber bumpers on the inside. Opening the hood I inspected the rubber bumpers and looked for any possibility of an adjustment. I noticed they are threaded at there base which is through the upper support cross frame. By unscrewing a turn or two it snugged up the hood and no more vibration noise. I'm thinking if i'd to dealer I'd get the "can't duplicate" reply or worse yet the'd want to rebuild the whole front end.
That's great! Also check your tire pressures...Many have found them to be 40+ PSI from the dealer.
I am familiar with the road you mentioned. MAYBE some day it will be bypassed by Interstate 11?????
