Front End Creaking Over Speed Breakers

I wanted to post this as a new thread as I want everyone to know the result of my service today. I took my ‘20 Tech SH-AWD to the dealer for the common front end creaking noise when going over speed breakers.

I scratched my head when the shop report indicated they didn’t replace the control arms as I had expected. They replaced both front struts and solved the noise issue.

Over the course of time here on the board I’ve read posts that indicates the control arms were replaced but the noise never really went away. Maybe this information will help someone solve this unnecessary problem.

OTOH my 2019 Advance creaks and that has different struts. And the control arms have allegedly been on backorder for months.

Thanks for sharing. Has it resolved the problem? We had the control arms done at 700 miles after 3x to dealership and haven't had the same problem since it warmed up. That's not to say there's not been other problems, just not that one again.

Yup... fully resolved. I guess in my case it was one or both of the struts. I was fully expecting the control arms to be done and when they told me the struts were replaced, I was expecting to hear the noise as soon as I went over the first bump out of the dealer lot. I am relieved the issue is solved.

That's great to hear but raises the question of whether or not both struts and control arm bushings are problematic in the RDX.

Spot on. Mine sounded like an old Buick even in 90 degree heat along with the colder temps back in Jan/Feb. The sound was consistent regardless of temperature.
