Flashing engine light bug

My vehicle (around 1,600 miles) lost all pedal response in the passing lane of the highway. I was using LKAS in combination with adaptive cruise control. During the first half of my trip, the systems were operational for about 60 miles. On the return part of the trip (30 miles into trip), I decided I wanted to turn off the adaptive cruise control. Upon doing so, I retook control of the gas pedal only to realize i could not accelerate. I then pulled 1 lane to the right and attempted to try and accelerate again and still recieved no response. Vehicle speed started decending from 70, and a flashing engine light came on. I immediately pulled to breakdown lane.

My initial thoughts were this is a software related glitch. I turned the car completely off, waited a few seconds, and then back on to reboot the computer. I still had a flashing check engine light, with no engine response from the gas pedal. I then swithched the car back to park, then back to drive. Suddenly I regained engine response with pedal inputs as well as the systems (LKAS and adap CC). The problem has not came back as of yet.

Has anyone experianced anything like this yet?

Nope.

File a ticket with Acura Relations. Get it documented someplace.

Might be a low battery. Check the voltage and report back?

Is it similar to this issue?

I have the same problem described in the linked thread and dealer cannot read any code.
If you can bring your car in and see if they find any code maybe it will give us some clue as to what happened.

Is this just sending them an email from the ACR website? How do you file a ticket? Sorry new to Acura.

I can do that, but I dont suspect that.

1 new car the batt should be charged
2 happened on the return trip, so it had a good one hour and 30 minutes to charge
2 No loss or flicker of any other electrical systems (radio still operatiing, HUD still displaying, AC still running?

I deal with very similar issues at work. Many new electrical systems are interconnected and driven by software. If there is any hiccup from the way a computer reads a signal or the software of the items dont connect right you get failures. Its like when your home computer doesnt work, and you have to reboot it. If it was a legitimate error, it wouldnt go away when you switch systems off then on. Unfortunately changing from manual operation to drive by wire, these things come of this. Hopefully there is something they can do with the info and prevent that in software changes.

I will also mention that after everything worked again, i tried several times to do the same steps to recreate the problem and I could not duplicate it

I have the same problem described in the linked thread and dealer cannot read any code.

I planned on having them search to see if a code was triggered at my next oil change. I suspect acura is going to ask me to go sooner. Right now my car is at airport for a week so I cant do much until I return anyways

Send feedback up the chain. Documentation is important; isolated phone calls don’t matter. Get the Management Information reports moving.

Same thing happened to my 2019 rdx at 2400 miles. It’s in the shop and shows misfire.

Mine did it at 2400 miles. Dealer is talking with Acura and don’t know what to do yet. 24 hours later. I did restart and did it again before I had it towed to the dealer. Sad for a brand new Acura. I would be afraid to drive it till fixed as it loses all power and will barely go 15-20 mph. Hoping it’s not common because we bought two of them!!

My 2012 TSX wagon non-turbo 4cyl with 16,700 miles did the exact same thing several days ago and threw code PO 302 and VSA code 83. I could not go faster than 15 mph with full throttle. Research it on Acura tax club and mentioned it could be bad coil pack on # 2 cylinder. Today car runs fine with no error codes. Had the flashing engine light warning, but it seems to have gone away for the moment. Go figure!
