Never routinely. Noisy, harsher ride (but no lean in the curves), lowers gas mileage, requires constant attention. But if approaching a roundabout and there is a BMW or Audi in the other lane, can be useful.....

It depends, if I’m on a long trip I use comfort, but most of the time it’s around town, and man do I love sport+, about 99% of my city and local driving is in that mode

24/7 Sport + for me. I love it, don't care about the gas mileage and just crank the stereo.

95% Comfort, 5% Sport+. Sport+ is exhilarating but too manic for me for everyday driving.

According to the Driver Feedback analytics on my AcuraLink app based on 100 trips, 1800 miles and 46 hours of driving it works out to 80% Comfort, 15% Sport and 5% Sport +. Basically, what this information drills down to is three main driving conditions: highway, city and “super-engaged” driving conditions.

COMFORT: We drive between Seattle and Portland down Highway 5 so that constitutes 80% of time we use the Comfort segment and these driving conditions are the prime reason we chose the RDX. We take full advantage of RDX driver-assistive technology which makes a 5-hour drive a very relaxing experience and not tiring at all. It is a first-class seat experience and all I need to complete it is beverage and meal service.

SPORT: Used for in-town and city-specific driving. The higher response makes a noticeable difference with more stop-and-go and - especially in Seattle - it’s a hilly city with a lot of distractions.

SPORT +: Used this going up some mountain roads in our area…Mt Rainier and Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. It’s a lot of fun making the best use of the 272 ponies. We also use Sport mode as well.

Sport+ won't use 9th or 10th gear. Pointless when cruising on the highway @65-75 mph.

I'm always in Comfort mode when I'm on the highway. Sport most other times. I'll only use Sport+ occasionally when I'm on a nicely paved, deserted, winding, hilly road. Like I'm making an Acura commercial.

that’s not true, that’s only if you put it in sequential mode, sport+ in normal drive mode will use all 10 gears

Sorry, you are wrong. I drive Sport+ all the time and never gets out of 8th gear no matter what.

Where does it mention ANYTHING regarding if the dial is in Comfort, Sport or Sport + and effects? It mentions Drive modes Normal and Sequential. All I know is when I am in Sport or Comfort and cruising at Freeway speed (70) and turn the dial from Comfort to Sport + I feel the transmission going down a gear or two and it stays there. If I go the other way it upshifts. Tach reflects that as well and stays there at steady speeds.

Comfort is used most of the time. I find Sport + useful on older short entrance ramps onto busy freeways and on two lane rural roads when behind a car or truck I decide needs to be passed. I use Sport some on hilly terrain.

I use Comfort mode 99% of the time also. I occasionally use Sport + when on a curvy road, but just for kicks...Don't have many around here anyway. Regarding passing...Sport + doesn't give any more acceleration, MAYBE better throttle response, s it might drop a gear further, but if you need to pass, punching the throttle fully in either mode will likely provide the same result.

I love sport+ and wish it didn’t lock out the top gears. To me sport+ gives the RDX the throttle response it should always have. I’m a bit disappointed in the throttle response in the other modes.

i don't really get why it would lock out the top gears. shouldn't they be usable if you're cruising?
and i also wish the fake engine noise wasn't so high on sport+. it makes me want to use sport+ for very limited amounts of time only.

I could do without the fake engine noise completely, and I wish I could turn it off. What a ridiculous thing to engineer into a vehicle. Time and money to come up with this would have been better spent making sure the usb input worked consistently or having more than one usb input like so many other vehicles on the road.

The manual doesn't give much detail on what actually happens in each of the driving modes. Sport+ may override the S transmission setting just like it disables auto-idle stop. The manual does have a couple of errors...for instance the steps to enable the automatic parking brake feature has been confirmed incorrect.

In another vehicle I have had this fake sound picked up at or near to the exhaust or intake manifold and then piped into the cockpit. A forum member for that vehicle described in detail how to eliminate that. Does anyone in this forum have a step-by-step procedure for the 2019+ RDX to eliminate this noise?

While I don't want to speak for someone else, I believe that the comment about your "signature" refers to the red lettering below your user name on the left of the post.

The fake engine noise in the RDX is electronically added. It can be disabled by disconnecting a wire from a device (I think it is under the dash?) that also attempts to reduce unwanted noise. There are other posts here describing how to do it. It doesn't bother me, so I don't have the details committed to memory, but some have commented it is worse with it disconnected. Try searching the forum.

I am easily offended no more than anyone else on here. It's like selling yourself or snake oil on here, it is not tolerated. Why would one want to make enemies on here? I don't understand. Whatever.

For me, it has nothing to do with either party, or being offended, or any slogans. Personally, I prefer to just read about and discuss cars

And on that note, I'll say that since we've been discussing it more lately, I've been using the mode selector a lot more and driving in Sport+ a lot more. That's what it's there for.
