I know the Aspec does not...not sure about the aspec advance.

So you pay more for the A-Spec/Advance trim but you don't get the spare? That makes no sense...

 

It’s due to the size of the wheel.

 

I don't know if I buy that. We're talking about a donut, right? Aren't all RDX wheel wells the same, regardless of trim?

 

I got a '21 A-Spec and told the dealer I couldn't make a deal if the spare tire kit and tire wasnt included in the price. They added it with little fight.

 

Exactly, the size of the rim doesn't matter. It is the overall diameter of the wheel that matters with respect to the speedo/driveline. So all spare tires would be the same I think.

 

hmm---I'm about to purchase a 2023 Aspec advance...agreed to a price. No spare...hmm

 

it’s a common thing these days, zero spare - but a inflation kit. In 21k miles (in all conditions and several big multi day road trip, never got a flat.

 

I had a flat when my 2019 was newish and the tire had to be replaced so fix a flat wouldn't have worked.

 

Tell them to add it in at your agreed price or you walk. I’m willing to bet the farm they agree.

Once a dealer knows you will sign, that’s when to tell them the extras you want included. They have you on the line and won’t let you go over extras they can expense at cost. I got my spare, all weather mats and some included maintenance after I agreed to a price.

 

I am already getting 7k off MSRP...and this car was already cheaper than any other car like it within 300 miles so I am rolling with it.
The 2023's come with 2 years of free maintenance already and I know from watching prices REALLY closely the last month that this is a great deal as is.
