These of course are nothing like the mud guards you would see on a F250, and shouldn't be. They are small, pretty easy to install although you may to pull either the front or rear wheels off (I don't recall). My opinion, they look nice on the RDX and would say they do provide some relief from little rocks flying off your tires and hitting the sides of the car, as well as some relief from abrasive 'mud'. And they aren't that expensive. I added the mud guards as well as the 'running boards'...they probably have no particular use as the RDX doesn't sit that high up but I think due to their smaller size and particular style they have, they add a 'look' to the RDX.

Yeah, I was going more for the look. I'll get them.

mug guards

Yes they do their job, specially front one.
without front dirt and water cover up to door holder. with them, much lower. Rear ones does job mostly for car behind you.

I got them. I really wanted regular splash guards that extend down so I could just give them a kick to knock off the "fenderburgs". But these have worked pretty well, so far. No buildup of snow.

A salesman told me you don't really need anything more because of the aerodynamic design. I didn't believe him but it might be true.

I have put them on all my Honda's, and now my RDX. I notice road tar on them and the lack of nicks and scratches on paint behind them. I guess they work....and they look OK too.

You can buy them online at a discount, and install DIY. I remember calling dealer to say how much to install (parts+labor), they had ridiculous $500+.

My dealer wants $208 for parts and installation. I'm going to let them do the install.

They are VERY easy to install yourself but then......they will do them for you. I just had all that wrapped up in the "package" when I got the car (thousands below sticker, BTW)

Mud flaps are nice when the slush freezes to the flap instead of to the body of the car as well as protecting the body from thrown gavel from the tire. The 2019 flaps mount very secure and I like the look.

I bought mine in May 2018, RDX 2019 - Advanced. I had to tell the dealer that the mud flaps were included with purchase.
All the 2019 RDXs on the lot did not have mud flaps installed.
New model for the dealer, didn't know.

I paid $219 for all 4 installed. I was ready to do it myself but at that price why bother.

If a dealer quoted me $500, I'd never set foot in that place again.

The $219 is reasonable considering parts cost ~$130. I think you get better deal when you buy all that stuff together with a car, if you come later and try to buy accessories, they think they can give you crazy prices. I turned it down, and installed myself.
