Difficulty answering phone in the car

I have a 2020 RDX Tech and I always had a problem answering the phone in the car. . When someone calls, I try to answer it with the touchpad and it doesn't work until after several tries or not at all. Similarly trying to answer on the switch on the steering wheel has the same effect of not working or rarely working. FYI, I have tried unparing and paring the phone a few times and it doesn't change anything. Has anyone else had this problem and/or have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Take it to the dealer before warranty runs out. This is something they should remedy. Who knows, might be related to the CAN Bus recall. My Bluetooth phone pairing has worked flawlessly in my 2020 (A-Spec).

So you are saying you can answer the phone within one try every time?

Yep, I’ve received dozens of calls while driving and it’s always answered without a hiccup. I exclusively use the wheel on the steering wheel to answer though, never the touchscreen.

What kind of phone do you have?

Moto G Power. My prior Moto phone had the same issue. I'm afraid the dealer is going to blame the phone.

Have someone with an iPhone pair, and then take a call.

If that works flawlwssly, and mine does, then it is the phone.

I had this happen to me also, but I mostly use Apple Car play, it works OK through it.

This happens to me as well, but intermittently.

I vaguely think the delay tends to occur when Android Auto is active.

That is a possibility. I believe it is more difficult to answer the phone if I am connected through Android Auto.

There was an approved lsit of phone listed for the RDX but I cant find it. All phones may not function properly on all cars. It sounds like the MOTO G may not works as well in the RDX. Have someone else pair another phone such as Android or Apple and see if that works.

They maybe right………MOTO phones are a HUGE problem.

Use the steering wheel buttons is the best and first choice no matter the phone manufacturer.

I have always used the bump switch on the wheel to answer or reject calls or texts. Never been a problem. It's easier with the HUD.

BTW, funny thing about playing text messages using the Text-to-Speech feature:
