Got the RDX as a second car (after dragging my feet for 3 years), then we had a baby last year and my wife thought she was late to work since we carpooled.
She is still 'luxuriously' late to work, as we switched to commuting in the RDX, she likes the heated seats and all. It was supposed to be her car, but it is too new, for me, not to drive it.
Our other car is a 06 Civic with 200k miles. It was getting harder to pack up everything in the Civic and the baby gets bumped every time we put him in the car seat. Although he has adapted, he uses his hands to cover his head when we put him in either car, kids learn fast.
So far, we love the car. It is by no means perfect, but my research has taught me there is no perfect car, it is whatever you can live with. I have read this forum and countless other car forums, and was aware of the common 'issues' when I bought the RDX. I am finding new ones as we use it more, like the area under the door panel which gets dirt and mud (we we took it up the mountain in rain and muddy roads) even though the door extends to the bottom, missing body plugs, roof not flush etc. We almost bought the new Rav4 Hybrid, but I am glad we didn't, it is too much money for a less premium car.

2015 TLX - great car but I love the height and features (e.g. Carplay, heated steering wheel, roominess) of my RDX.
I am 6'5" and am still trying to get the perfect seat position. There are so many choices/variables it may take awhile.

My 2020 SH-AWD A-Spec replaced my 1999 TL with approx. 165k+ miles on it. Plenty of life left as many know, but I was the third owner (my first car) and the car as much as I cherished it gave too much of a headache after 5 years of ownership - it was bound to happen.

Sold our '17 RDX Advance to our younger son as part of a multi-way sale. His '14 RDX Tech was used as the final trade-in, he got the '17, while we drove home in the '20 RDX Advance. My older son still has our old '13 RDX Tech.

OH! Now that I am an RDX owner (5 days!), I am legal to post in this thread!
My RDX replaced an 18 CR-V Touring FWD, (owned 13 months 15,500 miles) which I thought was a very nice vehicle for the price. In fact, this was the first Honda that we owned that I actually liked/really liked. Which led me to choose the RDX. Like others, I investigated many of the competition, and road tested several as well, No comparison. PERIOD! (ahem, as long as the provide the promised Android Auto sometime soon!)

Ironically, we traded in my wife's '15 Escape Titanium 2 weeks ago for a 2020 CR-V Touring.
My plan a year ago when I bought the RDX was to trade in her Escape at that time and keep the CR-V for her daily commute, but she who must be obeyed wasn't on board.. Anyway, we got another repair-free year out of the Escape, and got the updated 2020 CR-V Touring which now has wireless phone charging! I'm jealous!

The tech in the CR-V is a mixed bag, lower resolution slower response (longer to get booted up and ready to use) and smaller screen, but has Native Android Auto, and it seems to work every time, vs intermittent having to unplug and replug in, in the RDX. Also, although I am very comfortable with the touch pad in the RDX, I think the touch screen is much more intuitive.
Other tech, it has the Honda safety suite that has all of the RDX's safety features, except front and rear proximity sensors. (The new CR-V Hybrid has this now)

'07 Land Rover LR3 with 4.4 V8. Liked the LR but it was getting up there in mileage (162K) and gas mileage sux and repairs overpriced.
Looked at cars at the auto show and loved the RDX.
Located a '19 at Carmax that was in pristine condition. No regrets.

I replaced my 2017 CRV Touring with 26K. My wife loved the car, was pretty quiet, good ride and fit our needs well. Major problem was the oil dilution problem. I had the so called" FIX" done to the car as soon as it came out, but it did no good. The camshaft blew on the car at 25K. Honda was very good about fixing the problem, but seemed to give me the run around about how bad the problem really is and some of my other concerns. Yes they extended the warranty, but the extension was only for the camshaft and push rods, which I had done. What other damage did it do to the bearings in the engine? I guess they just want you to roll the dice and take their word every thing will be fine. Well they wanted to sell me a new car of course, and told me they never hear for this problem. Found out from the salesman, who is a friend and is about to retire that he allow has had 4 of his customers who had the same thing happen to them.
Well not 2 weeks go by and the oil level was back over the full line, the car had to go. Looked at the Rav4, felt very small on the inside and looked cheap on the inside for the price. The Forester was very nice, but the engine not so good. As some one said on this site, the car could not even get out of it's own way. 2020 CRV had the same engine as the 2017 and there has been reports of the same problem in cold weather states.
RDX was not even on my radar just because the closes dealer was 100 miles away, but the more I learned about it, the more I felt it was the right car to fit our needs. Well the car check all the boxes for my wife needs and has the performance I was looking for. The price was very fair, the sales staff was excellent. No pressure to buy and I felt they wanted to fit me in the right car for our needs, not just to make a sale.

2011 Honda Odyssey with 173,000 miles, before that a 2000 Honda Odyssey. They were great, good gas mileage for their size, and served their purpose....but this new vehicle was "for me."
A month ago I purchased a 2020 RDX SH-AWD TECH.

2017 GMC Acadia Denali AWD.
The GMC was and is a far superior vehicle in all ways. Not a single problem, dealers eager to please, inexpensive maintenance, well built with better materials, better MPG and more powerful, much larger, and better steering feel.

It is still a new car, why did you replace it?
#143
We'd leased the '17 Acadia under a great GM Financing promo when it was launched, but the residual was very high which made the buyout illogical. Our lease ended during the GM strike, so there was limited inventory to stay with GM and no offers.
RDX quality, comfort, and performance is a disappointment. It's a fraction of the size of the GMC, is noisy, uncomfortable, with overly complex tech and drive line complexity. It gets less MPG than the GMC. It's a pointless vehicle. Our bad, should have taken more time before buying.

It is. But we've bought 9 Honda's/Acura's and am shocked at how the brand has lost its way and the quality has tanked. Again, I did no research just trusted the brand. Came to find out that because of this vehicle and a couple of other models that Honda's reliability has sank to lower than Mini! We had a Countryman S that we loved but was a nightmare of constant issues and insane cost of repair. That Honda is rated lower now just blows my mind!

Traditionally been a Toyota/Lexus guy. Only had 1 Honda product (2004 S2000...still miss it!). Lexus is too damn ugly to buy. Audi was the choice 5 yrs ago. German engineering is too weird for me. Case in point. The Q5 has no dipstick (but a dipstick tube). Horn won't honk with ignition off (but radio will play), list goes on. It was RDX or CX-5 when I had to buy something...CX-5 is nice, but honestly being used to dealing with luxury or near-luxury dealers, dealing with Mazda dealership was a turn off....asking me what else I was considering..told the RDX..and they came back with the 'not as reliable, more expensive to maintain' line)...classic 'dealership line'

Just got my 2020 RDX SH-AWD TECH yesterday. White with the espresso interior (which really looks nice); I left behind my 2018 Buick Regal TourX (wagon). The TourX -- basically a German Opel with a Buick badge -- was a fun car, but nowhere near as luxurious as the RDX.

I turned off that courtesy seat-retreat feature because when I started the car and the seat came forward I had to squirm around to get comfortable. Now, I get in, little squirming, good to go. Except I am still experimenting a little for that final sweet spot but that's mainly on a long highway run.
