Exclamation Buying and programming a remote start fob?

2022 Base RDX (but also asking for my wife's 2021 base RDX) I'd like to be able to remote start the vehicle with a fob. I am tempted to just get an aftermarket starter, but I really don't want to carry 2 fobs around, I already hate carrying one fob around. Our existing fobs don't have remote start on them, although both vehicles can use the Acuralink app to remote start. My 2022 is currently on the Acuralink app, but I can't stand it, it takes 1-2 minutes just to retrieve the car status, if I mistakenly scroll down there is another 1-2 minutes as it re-retrieves the car status, then hitting start takes another 1-2 minutes to start and retrieve the new status and 1/3 of the time it fails to start and I have to start all over again. By that time I could have just walked out to the car and started it manually.

Anyway I'm reading that there is a remote start fob I would have to purchase and have programmed by the dealer. Anyone have a part number or cost on what the dealer might charge for parts and labor?

I looked into that when I first got the RDX.. Should be this.. https://www.acuraexpressparts.com/oe...er-08e92tjb200
I remember you have to take a lot of the cargo area apart to install the module. I think someone had a "shortcut" but still involve taking a lot pieces off in order get to the module connector.
Maybe easier to pay for the app...
I personally decided that I don't need it enough to pay anything extra for it.

Thanks I'll look into that, I also found a video on youtube of someone installing the transceiver into a 2019 so hopefully that will help. It's not a question of money, it's that the app just really stinks and I'd rather just manually start the engine.

Edit: that part doesn't fit a 2022, I'm going to call them and see what they have.

That looks like the same remote that comes standard in Canadian RDX's. The description says
  • The remote includes an LCD display that indicates vehicle and in-cabin temperature status
The fob that I have does not have this, and the images on the web page do not show a LCD display. I wonder if that is a new option, or if it is just marketing hype.

For anyone that needs it the 2022 part number is 08E92-TJB-200A (just added an A to the 2019-2021 part number) Dealer is quoting me a "special", installation and programming for $899 (regular price $1100) which actually doesn't sound bad at all since just programming the 2 new fobs is $250.

It pays to shop around, I called the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. $766 installed and programmed, or $160 just to program the fobs.
