Bumper Protection Recommendations

I live in Brooklyn, and I park on the street. I'm now debating the wisdom of getting a white car (I just really wanted the espresso interior and that is such a good looking combination!). Anyway, I'm wondering what other people do for bumper protection. I've read some older threads here and some people go all out with PPF and ceramic coating (?) while others have mentioned a "clear bra" or something similar. I'm not looking to spend thousands of dollars and I don't want to alter the appearance of my new car that much. So what do people recommend?

Aside; also looking at one of those big bumper type license plate holders - not sure how it would look, or if it would be that effective. Anyone use one of those?

just a few corrections; a ceramic coat nor will a PPF protect from bumper damage...Clear bra's wont help either....

what you want is a garage...or an old beater car.

nothing short of adding some ugly cladding to the back and front of the car will protect from an impact.
