Automatically scheduled for Service Maintenance several months in advance?

Hey all,

I just recently got a 2022 RDX ASpec Advance half a week ago and I just received an email from my dealership about a miscellaneous service that is several months out. Is this normal for buying new cars? I've always bought used cars and went to local shops myself. Tried to look it this up on Google first, but I think my searches were too narrow. Thanks!

Maybe 22 is special, but no car that I bought ever needed service in 2 month.
maybe they just trying to get you used to dealership aura and get you ready to open a wallet

It's actually in August. I should've specified many months out haha.

I always buy my cars new, and have been for 50 years, and no, this is not normal.

Use the Maintenance Minder to see what and when something is due.

Sometimes the dealer has their own maintenance schedule that doesn't line up with the manufacturer. Just another way for them to make money.

I would wonder what a miscellaneous service is. That sounds weird.

That's what I am leaning towards, but I was able to negotiate to get the oil changes, air filters and tire rotation maintenance stuff included in addition to the msrp. But I'll be calling to ask what it is and update yall.

you’re right. I’m looking to replace my RDX with a Lexus, and there are none around. I want to go back to a sedan, and am looking for an ES ultra luxury. None to be had.

But, since I always buy my cars, replacement is on my own schedule.

There are ten 2022 RX 350's sitting on the lot at my local Lexus dealer here in Colorado. No sedans though. They don't sell well here in Colorado.

I actually tried to get a lexus first too, but no stock from 4 different dealerships. You do need to pay for all the extra stuff like panaromic moonroof that is standard in the RDX. This is the Nx though.

The RX is way overdue for a redesign.

Finally got an update and they said it is for tire rotations, oil change and just an inspection of the car. They could've specified it in the reason. I bought it Feb 27 2022 and they scheduled the maintenance in August 2022.

Ignore all dealership correspondence on maintenance. The car will tell you when it needs maintenance and show a code on the screen indicating exactly what you need done.

Dealers are skilled at making you think they’re providing you with Acura’s official maintenance recommendations, but really they’re upselling you on services you don’t need.

Right on, thanks for the heads up. I'll keep delaying the appointment till computer message pops up.

And when you go in, just do what the MM tells you.
