Aspec compressor mod

I recently installed the spare tire to my aspec so I had an extra compressor pump I no longer really needed except for the occasional car tire fill and bike tire fill up. But I hate the end that comes with the compressor as when you take it off you lose a ton of the air. I decided to remove the factory end and replace it with a 1/4 barb to 1/4 npt compressor fitting. You can pick one up for about $4 at Home Depot. Honestly the hose clamp isn’t probably even needed, as before installing it I tried as hard as I could to pull out the new fitting and it’s permanent.

now I can fill up my car and bike tires without losing any air, it’s quick and easy, and if I want I could put any 1/4 inch attachment on I want, longer hose, different air chuck, etc. easy cool mod that makes the compressor much more useable, and it’s cheap

the default factory end

Nice plumbing. The hose clamp is probably a good idea so you don't launch a missile some day.

I like it! Thank you for sharing.

I was put off by how much air would leak when taking off the original end.

Yea I suppose they mainly design the end for the fix a flat but for daily general use it sucks
