Thanks Meto! That's good news. In the mean time, is there any way to get Google Maps to show up on the 2019 RDX while using an Android phone??

Or True Touchpad, in AcuraSpeak. But don't let that get in the way of a bad joke...

It was originally scheduled for December, but Google pushed it back because the new update to AA has not been fully tested yet.

Those post mention nothing regarding touchpad implement for AA. I doubt they have it by FEB 2019

Those links just confirm that Google is focused on the update to Android Auto before working on anything else. The Android update has been pushed out so now hopefully they can finish up with sending out AA for the RDX system.

Maybe Google is trying to make it work with the touchpad, rather than what apple has done?

Hope so. I am in the iPhone verse, but if Google gets this right, I will switch to Android when I make my 5G phone buy.

I keep watching this thread, as I am likely going to make my purchase decision in the next 2 weeks or so, and I want AA.. There have been other brands that "promised" new buyers that Android Auto will be coming, yet I think that they never got it added retroactively (2017 or 2018 Mazda CX5 ??) The 2019's do have it, as I understand. I could be wrong on the unfulfilled promises...

If AA is very important to you, I would suggest waiting.

It isn’t here yet, and Carplay implementation is not that great. Wait until you see how the implementation goes. Or just recognize that it really might not happen to your satisfaction, but your are OK with it. If not, wait, and after it, if it, comes on line, give it some time to see how it works.

Just my opinion.

I remember reading somewhere that you can get the 2017-18 cx5 upgrade to AA from dealer now.
I thought it wasn't going to be too bad to not have AA, but it's getting inconvenient for me. Don't get the rdx you can't do without AA and don't bet on "promise", it will probably come but who knows when. It could be months or years. I think the only other higher end crossover that has AA is Audi Q5. A lot of brands has AA crossover. Good luck.

Well said. Don't bet on promise. Mazda owners waited 2 years, prompted bunch of DIYs. The 19 definitely has it now, factory installed and 17, 18 models can get official retrofit. At least Mazda came through but two years is a lifetime if you lease

Numerous car salesman told me my 2016 Outback would eventually get it......nope!!! At least with Acura, their official Twitter page states it is coming.....Question is when and how good it will be?

At least Acura is not charging yearly subscription like the BMW for carplay. That's damn right obnoxious and robbery. I refuse to buy the X3 on that ground.

Thanks, guys! I hadn't seen that Mazda finally made AA available for the existing owners of 17 and 18s! Good to know. There is SOME piece of mind there, as I would buy the RDX, (If that ends up remaining my first choice) if Acura also stands behind what they are saying. BUT, what if Google isn't able to make it work with the True touch pad, and Acura ends up redesigning the hardware for the mid cycle refresh, rather than updating software on existing vehicles?

Also, (I didn't quote) but the comment about Subaru sales folks promising AA ...hmm, salespeople promise alot that they have no control over, but concerning, none the less.

I know better to not trust a sales person....the salesman at Tischer Acura here in Laurel MD told me it already has Android auto, lol Said it has always had it....wouldn't believe me when I told him it had not....

I just came from my weekly visit to Acura. Different dealership this time. Without my asking a question the sales guy started promoting the RDX. He told me it comes with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. I said "Well, not Android Auto." He said "Oh yes, guaranteed."

Guaranteed that it has it now? or will have it? LOL

I wish I had more than one choice in Acura dealers here. Sigh But that would mean I would have to live in a BIG city, which is NOT what I want.

The guy today said it had it NOW, guaranteed. A different Acura sales guy told me last week that it is guaranteed to get AA in the next month or so. Guaranteed. I asked him "If I buy the car today, and it doesn't get AA within 2 months, can I return the car and get my money back?" I think you know what the answer was.
