Exclamation Acuralink "A System Error has Occurred"

Anyone else getting this? When trying to remote start my car the Acuralink app (on iOS) gives me the error of "A System Error has Occurred Our apologies, remote services are not available at this time. Please wait a few moments and try again."

I was getting this sporadically all last week, only a few times so I figured maybe their servers were full or something. Happened over the weekend as well, but it would always work the 2nd or 3rd try. Previous to this never happened and worked perfectly. Now today it keeps doing this, I've tried 20+ times and it just won't work. Hoping someone else has the solution before I reinstall the app and then call Acuralink.

I got that over the weekend when checking the vehicle status. Finally gave up after a while and the next day it was working again. I suspect it had to do with Acura/Honda servers or network or ???. Some system might just have been down for normal maintenance.

Had the same thing happen occasionally with my '14 Cadillac via OnStar.

I get the same error message frequently. My most successful solution to date: kill the app (iPhone X, swipe it off the screen), then start the app again. No need to restart the phone. Also some success with going the the status screen and updating the status with the blue arrow in the upper right corner.

Acuralink app remote engine start is very unreliable. I gave up on it and fork $700 for dealer to install remote start. I will let the 6 months trial run it’s course and let it expire. No plan on paying $110 / yearly for for a feature working occasionally.

Nearly the same message will appear if you're trying to use a function that you're no longer subscribed to with the difference being it will begin with "Command Failed" versus "A System Error has Occurred".

My 'Remote' and 'Concierge' subscriptions have expired and that's the message I get when I try using those services - although waiting a few minutes in this case won't help.

Well seems to work fine today, so I will chalk it up to a server issue on their end.

Thousands more cars with these features are being sold every day. But they don't launch another comm satellite every day.

Well it started again tonight leaving work, couldn't get remote start to work. Called the concierge button in my vehicle but they said they didn't deal with that and I'd have to call a dealer, they didn't even know how to contact Acuralink support. I called Acuralink support directly and they said they were aware of the issue and it was happening because of "updates", but they seemed completely clueless as to what that meant. I asked how long these issues would last and he had no idea. I asked if days, months, he said he didn't know and knew another "update" was coming, but once again had no idea what "update" meant. So basically no help at all, but it seems they have some awareness of it.

Got the car yesterday and installed AcuraLink today. That message is all I've been getting. Can't even locate the car. Mostly, the car's been in the garage, so it may be impeding the satellite signal.

make sure both the app and the car allow Vehicle Data Collection. It is page 387 on the PDF manual and on the support page on the app.

On the status page of the app, tap the refresh icon on the upper right.

Looking at the Acura Link brochure I got from the dealer, I only get 3 features for 3 years and none for what I'm trying to do. I guess for the rest of the feature's I will have to pay the $159.00
