Acuracare maintenance quote

I received this quote from Hyannis Honda for the maintenance plan. I just bought an RDX so I’m not 100% what the maintenance requirements are and if this plan is worth it. I drive about 10k miles per year and am comfortable changing air filters but not oil.

For 30k, I figure it will be 4 oil changes, 4 tire rotations, brake fluid ($150), rear diff ($150), cabin and air filters ( $40 parts). Plus they will check few things, so probably worth it if you dont want to do anything yourself

Based on my real maintenance of my 2019 RDX RussianDude's estimate of services is exactly correct. Oil changes and fluid changes average out at $125 Cdn each = 6 services * $125 Cdn = $750 Cdn = $600 US. I sometimes have the oil changed at Honda vs Acura.

Changing the cabin air filter is a snap.

Yep. I’ve got no problem changing cabin and engine air filters. Sounds like the cost of this is right on the border of being worth it. Not sure I want to prepay for maintenance.

What I won’t do: engine, transmission or differential oil changes. Brake fluid. Tire rotations.

Air filter is a bit more involved on RDX, but not impossible, there is a video.
Changing oil is very easy, I even did my rear differential fluid which turned out to be easier than oil.

I used to do all that maintenance but with two little kids I don’t have the time anymore.

Its funny, but I am actually enjoying DIY because I save time. Unless they give you a loaner each time, the wait for oil change could be over an hour plus time driving there.

Maintenance packages are nice for the future convenience and as a hedge against inflation, but I generally find it's still easy to over pay for those services once all is said and done. I routinely get email discounts for various services, and if I don't get one when I need service I can usually find a reasonable offer on the dealer's website for that month's specials.

For example, I just had my rear-diff service done last weekend as I'm at 14k miles. With no coupon the charge was $129.16. A couple of weeks prior, I got an email for $100 off any service over $100. Perfect timing.

what If I told you that for rear diff you only need 2qt of fluid 2x$8 plus washers, total of $20, and labor is less than engine oil change? In reality, rear diff should be cheaper than oil change, but they charge more.

.
Both filters are easy - air cabin is super easy - and find a replacement on Amazon to save you lots of $$ from the dealer. Oil change at the dealer cost me $90, and tire rotation was free, Good video on changing both of them:

Thanks for the link. The engine air filter does look a little more complicated than most but the cabin is a no brainer DIY
