There's already a thread about Acura Care Extended Warranty, but here you go -- quote I received from Hyannis Honda Acura, which expires after 10/31/18:

Time to close this duplicate thread. A dealer will never give you your best price unless they are willing to price match which I as able to accomplish on two separate occasions. My final thought is that it is typically more economical to buy the $0 deductible as only a few minor instances will cost you more than the $0 as you can see when comparing D82 to C82

From birdonamission's table, the $0 deductible plans take your $100 deductible (plus another $5!) up front. For instance, the $100 deductible C60 plan for 6 yrs / 100K is $960. The $0 deductible D60 plan for 6 yrs / 100K is $1,065. I never buy these plans, but if you want to purchase one you're better off buying the $100 deductible plan and hanging onto your $100 until you need to pay it.

^^^totally disagree unless you feel the likelihood of only one warranty claim will happen during the life of the warranty. Far better option to pay the $0 deductible but I guess it boils down to an old Dirty Harry saying..."how lucky do you feel punk"

Wait.

We have a great initial warranty that most folks sell their cars before it is up.

So, wait until you are sure you want that extra protection.

securityguy's has a point. I was thinking why pay the $100 deductible up front when you might never file a claim? But if you filed two or more claims, the $0 deductible would be more cost effective option.

Totally agree Madd Dog. I, for one, know we will not keep it longer than 3 years and I'll never come close to 50K miles so, for me, not an option and only applies to those that drive cars until the wheels fall off. I have a very bad disease...carbuyingitis and it flares up every 2-3 years. Very expensive to treat and there is no cure.

I've got an even worse case.

I've owned 27 vehicles during the last 29 years including 9 Hondas and 1 Acura.

The longest I ever kept a vehicle was a 1999 Buick Regal that I had for 7 years and 100,000 miles.
The second longest was a 2010 Honda Ridgeline that I kept for 4 years and 54,000 miles.

The shortest were a 2009 Civic and 2016 CR-V that I owned for 90 days and a 2018 Accord that I owned for 4 months.

Needless to say, I don't buy extended warranties.
