3G RDX Off-Road
I am new to the forum. Still driving the 2005 Acura TL, which we soon consider changing to 3G RDX. So far, I see all good reviews and comments about the car, but surprisingly, very little, except for one and the same YouTube video, regarding the new RDX off-reading. Any experiences to share? Thanks!

BS&E - Thank you for good point. It’s interesting that 2019 BMW X3 as well 2019 Macan base are claiming specific focus on the off road capabilities as next step improvement on top their top notch sporty behavior. I hope that new RDX could be on par with the trend. Maybe it is, but the reviewers are silent.

‘Off Roading’. Like driving down my driveway into my garage? I tell ya, I took a ton of measurements, and my garage door opener mechanism had about an inch of clearance. But an inch is an inch, and it clears it every time I go off road and down the driveway to the garage.
So, yeah. Off road. Soft road. It works. I wouldn’t take it over the rocks in Sedona; I would hop on a Pink Jeep tour for that.

First lesson, AWD is NOT 4WD. AWD transfer powers from slipping wheels to those with traction, it is not a full-time system like Subaru's, and it's definitely not a 4x4 like a Jeep's no matter what the latest Kia Sorento commercial portrays.
If your driving will be limited to forest roads and fields, you'll be fine. Don't expect to run Moab in an RDX.
We settled on a Tacoma 4x4. It becomes my daily driver, and the wife will probably be getting a new RDX once pricing settles down a bit, although with year-end discounts, an MDX isn't that much more.
