2024 owners any updates?
I've had my 2024 since February, have not one update. Tried to do a manual update many times, says I'm up to date. Find it hard to believe there have not been any updates. Anyone with a 2024, have you gotten any updates?
I foolishly paid the $150 to extend the map updates for my 2019. I know, but I like the nav vs carplay (just me I guess). Anyway, I find it hard to believe it's been over a year since the last map update. Certainly roads and points of interest have changed.
F1.2.2 (July 2023) seems to be the latest OTA software update for the 22+ models. And D1.6.3 (March 2023) seems to be latest OTA update for the 2019-2022 models. Acura had been updating software every 6 months OTA until these dates.
There appears to be newer F software shipping on 25 RDX and 24 TLX models, so many of us are hoping that software makes it to the 22+ RDX. Key things people are hoping for is the full-width Carplay/Android Auto in F1.4, and the wifi map updates leaked in some Acura owner manual revisions.
Maps seems to keep updating every 3 months for my 2022, as long as you have an active map subscription. I presume the 2019 would do the same if you.pay for map updates.

Maps dates are generally 6 months older than when they are actually available. They appear to be the date that the source data was snapshotted, before 6 months of processing/compressing/publishing.
Acura/Honda started switching to Google navigation on newer models around 2023, and their older vendor seems to have slowed down supports since. Maps may slow down their 3 month cadence, we'll have to see.

Agree. My last available map update is 12/19/23, over a year ago. I paid for the extended subscription. I even called Acura to ensure that date was correct and was told it was and they had no idea when the next update would be available. I sure did waste $150.
I get it. I'm sure most prefer carplay. Every so often I wire up to connect my phone for carplay, but I still prefer the nav system. I can listen to my music without connecting via bluetooth.
19-21 have no seen any updates for 2 years or more
There are only two reasons to use factory nav. 1) You don't own a smartphone. 2) You have a smartphone but you can't get a data signal. CarPlay and Android Auto are superior. Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze are better and you can maintain your favorite destinations on your phone. I haven't had a factory nav that was worth a damn.

On the 2025 Forester, the NAV is packaged with reverse automatic braking and HK audio for $1600, lessening its competitiveness. The NAV looks like it hasn’t been upgraded in 15 years LOL. I can say that the factory NAV in my 2017 BMW is excellent, so I use it exclusively. Yearly updates are $120.
The 2024 RDX NAV is ok, but I have trouble figuring out what the next move is when on the freeway. Also, there’s no way to disable automatic zooming which means you don’t get a view of the entire route.
I got email today from Acura for Nav update available for my ‘24 RDX. I currently have 2023.09.25. I downloaded new update to a USB but haven’t ad chance loadi it yet. It was 2024.03.?? update from what recall.
I’m registered on Acura’s MyGarage but I didn’t get an email. I updated my 2024 last month to the 12/19/23 version.
I posted the steps I follow in another thread if anyone is interested. You can find them here.

System Updates are done OTA or USB.
My 2024 Navigation Manul indicates Map Updates can be done as "USB Map Updates" or "Automatic Wi-Fi Map Updates". However, there is no Automatic Wi-Fi option in my Navigation menu.at the place indicated. I recall someone saying the 2025 RDX has that Wi-Fi option and speculation is the next System Update will add that for earlier years, but that remains to be seen.

On my 2021, it has to been done by a USB upload, which is a pain in the neck. Once you get it down (download the driver to a clean USB drive, download the map and then upload to the vehicle), it's a 20-40 process. Best do do when you are driving, as if you shut the vehicle off before its completed, you will have to start the upload to the vehicle again. While you still get the map updates for free, it's worth the hassle. After that, I use Apple CarPlay maps, Waze maps or Google maps - much more reliable.
I updated my wife's 2022 RDX last night -- she still had the 2020 maps, which we never use anyway. I first fully charged the battery, then left the battery charger (40 year old 6 amp Sears) attached. Turned the car on (engine off). Despite the charger connected, the battery still dropped about 0.1V over the ~38 minutes that it took for the USB to be uploaded to the RDX. I used the Acura nav for a bit after the update -- what a POS. I won't miss it when the free subscription expires 6 months from now. You can always download Google maps to your phone ahead of time, if you are going to be in an area without a cell connection.
