Hello all. I just picked a new '18 RDX yesterday morning. The vinyl glovebox folder the salesman showed me had an "Owners Guide" in it and a "Consumer Information" booklet and a "Maintenance Journal". He gave me a DVD and said that that was my owners manual. I didn't look at it closely and figured that Honda was trying to save some trees. When I got home and started going through the stuff, I saw that the DVD says "Warranty Information" on it, and is not the owners manual. The Owners Guide is a somewhat abbreviated version of an Owners Manual, but nothing about break in, and no information about fluid capacities or maintenance schedule. Is this all I am supposed to get? I understand that "luxury" car owners are just supposed to rely on their dealers when an idiot light comes on. There is no extra room in the folder for an larger manual. I have a 2012 TL that has all the info in an actual owners manual. Do I need to call the dealer Monday and see where my manual is?

Printed versions are also available "complimentary to the first registered owner, up to six months after vehicle purchase".

That's how they do it now, had to get mine ordered too. There's an owner's guide and and owner's manual. The manual contains more info than the guide.

 

I guess it makes sense. The owners guide has more info than most owners/lessees need, and they will never miss the long version. Thanks.
