2023 RDX Type S

I feel like Acura has missed the opportunity window to go with RDX Type S. That opportunity was 3-4 years ago, the world
has moved on and demand in Type S will be substantially lower given gas prices and huge additional premium.

It won't be a hybrid. Acura is going all in on EV and keeping the hybrids with Honda according to my dealership contact who has seen the internal presentations on where the company is headed. The RDX will get it's Type S with the next model update (2024MY?). Then Acura's focus is aggressively shifting away from ICE to an all EV lineup by 2030.

Agree. That RDX comment just sort of appears out of thin air in an article about EV's and how they will get ordered....which is interesting unto itself. I wonder how test driving a vehicle goes in a world where cars are ordered online? And ordering online will eliminate haggling on price...(remember that anyone?)...And. ordering online may do away with dealer markups?

Yes...I watching a You Tube video a couple nights ago on car buying and using concierge, or dedicated buyer, to do the dirty work for you. The commentary and education about the 'finance manager' and what his/her role is, was remarkable.

I always tell them when we have come to an agreeable price, that I will walk if they start trying to sell me a bunch of stuff in the finance office. Sometime they say they have to, and I say, well, then I have to walk.

For ZDX, my guess is Acura will send out demo units two or three months before delivery, during pre-order period. GM is ramping up Ultium battery production quickly, so by Q4, the production should support the four Ultium SUVs well. There should be no shortage of cars for demo and for sale, similar to what happened to Tesla and now with Lucid.
Judging from other brands' EVs, there will probably be no markup for pre-orders, but markup through the roof for cars on the lot.
