2022 RDX screen glare?

I have a 2018 TLX and have owned RDX's in the past. Screens were always under a cowl so not much issue with glare, even if sunroof open. Took a 22 RDX A-Spec out for a test drive yesterday and sunshade open and a sunny day and screen was totally glared out and unusable. Could not read anything on navigation map for example. All I could see was a reflection in great detail of my wife's white coat from the passenger seat onto the screen.

Being brand new to the car and already driving, I did not stop to learn if/how screen display parameters can be changed but I assume that brightness and contrast can be altered etc. I have no idea what setting this was on, but if that is the usual, then that is 100% deal breaker for me.

Since I have not seen this issue come up in review after review, I have to assume that the settings were just out of whack and I would be able to set it up properly once I had time, control and knowledge.

Do any owners out there have issues with terrible glare on the "open" tablet-style screen?

I've never used it, but in the audio/information screen, you can customize the display brightness and the contrast; but not sure if it will make a difference in direct sunlight with the roof open. I have mine open on (rare) sunny days in Seattle and I can still see information pretty clear. But yes, you can tweak the display settings.

Go into settings and adjust the brightness. Also make sure you're not in Night Mode by default. And because you can never rule it out, make sure your headlights are on Auto rather than constantly on.

I've never had an issue with the screen ... but depending on what time of day you drive, the light hits the silver trim around the gear selector and fucking blinds you. Annoying. Guess not much time went into testing after the product was finished.

Funny you say this, I see this area in pics and think, "I bet when the sun hits that it's blinding."
