2021 RDX PMC Edition
We have a order in for the new PMC edition with a December production date. I thought these were arriving in November. Anyone hearing the same or different?
#3
Did they give you a vin# yet? I'm trying to find the part number for the black chrome tipped exhaust that comes on the PMC edition but dealer needs vin to look it up. You don't have to post your personal vin but would you be able to run it by your parts department to see if they can provide the part number of the PMC exhaust?

Search nationwide for orange colored RDX on a site like CarGurus (don’t search by trim because most sites aren’t updated yet). There are at least 4 advertised out there with VINs.

Any real world pics, vids and reviews yet?

Tried that but it's not working for me. No mater what filters I choose, it keeps showing me every damn RDX for sale nationwide.

@MrBlueSkies I see you bought your RDX PMC from AOB. I have ordered mine from them as well, with a June production date. They said there was only (1) more spot available for the Midwest Region, so I feel lucky to have secured it. While they cannot tell me just yet, as to when in June production will actually start, from your experience can you tell me how long it took to get your vehicle? Anything you can share about your experience, and how you’re liking the vehicle, is greatly appreciated. With #20 of 360, you were onboard early, whereas I am on the tail end. I wonder what number I’ll get. Thanks!

I didn't know anyone could order a PMC. I thought they were specially allocated to certain dealers, and the lucky dealers received only one? I just happened to visit the dealer nearest me to get the oil changed on my Gen 1, 2008 RDX, when I saw the PMC sitting in the showroom. It had arrived the previous day. I bought the PMC and decided to keep my 2008 RDX too. My PMC is #119.

@Trek According to my local dealer, when I questioned how to go about getting my hands on a RDX PMC Edition, I was told that Acura has select “production dates” throughout the model year for the special PMC Edition. I was further told that the last production date is sometime in June, and each region of the U.S. is allotted (x) number of vehicles. The Midwest region apparently only had (1) slot remaining, and they had to reach out to the regional office to ensure is was still available. I put my deposit down and I wasn’t happy until I received notification from my dealer that it was in fact allocated for me. It was written up as a “Special Order” and as far as I know, my local dealership never purchased a vehicle to have on their showroom floor, available for anyone to purchase. The salesperson said he sold the only other RDX PMC, and it was actually sold to member @MrBlueSkies on this site. I’m not sure if he bought it off the showroom floor, or also ordered it like me, but if he sees this, maybe he can advise. I do see about (30+) for sale nationwide, on CarGurus. All this being said, congrats on #119! I’m thinking I’ll be much closer to the 360 number. How much are you loving it? 🧡

I think the whole wait time from order to delivery was less than 8 weeks. I believe Acura is making them in batches of 20 so it depends on how lucky you are in hitting the production schedule at the right time.
I've put 6k miles on the car now. It's been squeak and rattle free. Can't say I'm a huge fan of using the touchpad while moving. Luckily you can do the most frequently used changes through steering wheel controls or voice.
Thermal orange really pops as the sun climbs higher. I had the front and hood treated with ppf; the rest ceramic coated and then the brake calipers painted. Looks awesome.
Mpg is just meh at 23-24.
I wonder when Acura will stop making 2021 RDX's and what they have planned for 2022.
Enjoy your new ride. It will get here before you know it!

The A-Spec comes without a spare tire, but I made the dealer add the spare tire underneath as part of the deal. He even let me keep the inflator-sealer, which normally comes with the A-Spec as a substitute for a spare tire. The dealer may not tell you about the lack of a spare tire in anything A-Spec for this car, so tell him/her you will buy only if he adds the spare tire and inflator-sealer.

I love my PMC. I've had it for two months but have put just over 400 miles on it. I need to drive someplace, LOL. My only gripe is the absence of power-folding side mirrors. A car in this price range should have those. I came from a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace First Edition, 380HP V6, AWD but 95% rear wheel biased. It drove like a sports car. The 2021 RDX A-Spec is just as long as the F-Pace but drive differently because it is not strong rear-wheel biased and is not nearly as fast. Still, I love it. The sound system is outstanding, better than the Jag, the seats are much better, much more comfortable.

I spotted a 2021 Acura RDX PMC Edition cruising down the street here in Honolulu yesterday. It looked impressive.

As for the 8 week timeframe, that’d work for me. I’m definitely excited to get my hands on it, but it’ll be here before you know it, like you said. All they said is it was a last spot available, (Yay for me) for the Midwest Region, with a June production date. Could be June 1, June 20, etc. Maybe I’ll be provided more information as it get closer to June.
Can I ask you who the detailer is that did your PPF and Ceramic Coating? I’m considering doing both, and I have called a few around the area. It is costly, but well worth it, I believe. Did they do the PPF areas first, then ceramic cost the rest? That’s what it sounds like from your reply. I’m also considering what what accessories I’d like to add. I want the Illuminated A-spec Door Sills, and perhaps the Black Chrome Emblems. Do you know if the PMC comes with a Remote Engine Start? I don’t think so, but like the Power Folding Mirrors that you mentioned that it does not have, I am hopeful it has the Remote Start. I think it’s included in the A-spec or Technology Package, but I’m not certain with way. Funny if it’s not included though. My current 2017 Touring CR-V has the Remote Engine Start. With these Winters, I’ve really come to like that feature. As an add-on accessory, it about $595.00, installed.
I’m curious what the 2022 RDX will bring too. Maybe those Power Folding Mirrors. Will there be a PMC Edition for the ‘22 model year? If so, what color? I couldn’t wait any longer, as I didn’t want to miss out on the Thermal Orange Pearl, as Orange is my fav color... 🧡
Thanks again!

Acu-Rah-Rah, I used CMG Detailing on Pioneer Road in Cedarburg so it looks like that would be a hike for you. They had the car for an entire week for ceramic coating, PPF and caliber painting but they do terrific work. I don't know the order of their process. Judging by the other cars in the shop at the time, I was in very good company.
I had the illuminated door sills, mud flaps and other accessories installed by AOB before delivery. Am thinking about getting a hitch installed for a bike rack or light trailer so have to research what's the best way to go for that. Unlike the Advance package, the PMC forgoes the "foot wave to open" the hatch feature so I'm guessing a hitch is not a big deal.
You can do remote start and more with the Acura Link app which comes with a free trial period. I used it once just to try it and it works fine.

Your Vehicle would look nice with the gloss black Aspec emblems, SH AWD, Acura A on back. All are available in gloss black. FYI.

There are some colors on cars that make all other cars around it look like black and white television vs color. Yours is one of them looks great. I feel similarly when i see the bright red on the Mazda CX-5.

haha...
Pretty much every car line up is like:
white, silver, gray, black, red, blue
Maybe the paint costs are optimized for those shades.
I've decided to stick with white forever.

Literally every single one! I personally would pay more for the more exotic colors. I know it costs more to have the options but like I'm someone who would pay 2k for a special color. Hell Kia now offers Matte paint on the sportage as an option! That's one thing I really appreciate about dodge, they usually have really cool colors like orange, yellow, green...etc.

I have never had a car as colorful as this one. I sure want to keep my nose clean in a car that stands out so much. LOL My car is #202 I am the second owner, as they bought the next PMC edition. I traded in my 2014 Hyundai Equus, which also got a lot of looks. The Acura sure hugs the road. I have never had a car that did that as well as the Acura. SH-AWD is awesome.

Thanks a lot. The Acura dealer said the previous owner just could not get into the color. I bought it the day he traded it into the dealer. Had to be detailed, or what they call detail as it is nothing compared to my detail! I have mixed feelings about it, still to this day. My first Acura has been awesome so far.

Just saw a 21 PMC in Massachusetts. The 3rd RDX PMC I'm aware of in the stste.
My wife's 22, another 22 that parks in Marlboro, and now this 21.
If it's anyone on the forum, it had MA plates, heading east on the Mass Pike in Boston around 5pm today. I was in the white Integra (loaner) driving around you checking the car out.
