2020 a-spec Bluetooth issues

Having this constant annoying problem and wonder if anyone else has experienced it.

Whenever I use Siri to send a text message to someone, it immediately starts playing my music over Bluetooth from my phone to the infotainment system. Same thing happens when I make a Siri-enabled call. It seems that whenever I use a voice-activated command using my iPhone XS Max, the system starts Bluetooth streaming my music.

For the move of all that is holy, how can I get this to stop?!!!

I haven't had that problem, but maybe I haven't done exactly what you're doing. I generally don't text from the car and when I make calls I usually use the RDX voice system. I have made calls using Siri though, and haven't had any trouble (iPhone X).

I looked through the manual and didn't find any setting that has anything to do with auto-playing music. My old Honda 3rd party stereo used to automatically play whatever was last played on my phone whenever I would connect to bluetooth, and I never was able to shut that off. There doesn't seem to be a setting in iOS that can stop this either, though if you google around you might find some workarounds.

Change the media selection on your infotainment system from Blue Tooth Music to something else like FM Radio or clock.

not sure what you mean? Do you mean when it starts streaming music to chance the source? Of course that’s what I’m doing now but I want to find out how to stop it from automatically streaming music every time I use Siri for a voice command. Thanks

It will default to the last setting when you turned off the car. Try this, before you turn off the car, select FM radio and make sure Bluetooth is not showing on either screen and turn off your car. Then turn on your car and see if it happens again.
