Hello all
Last weekend I bought my 2020 RDX SH-AWD with 23,000 on it. I’ve never owned such a nice vehicle before!! Also this is my first post here and I’ve been doing a lot of reading but need some help.
I have found in my reading that the differential fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles and I am assuming the transfer case at the same interval. I’ve found videos on changing the automatic transmission fluid but don’t know the interval for that. Also, I can’t determine if there is a front differential or not.
I have been unsuccessful so far finding any sort of service manual. Anything that will tell me parts and part numbers for things like the crush washers. And I found something that tells me the 10 speed auto only takes .61 liters of fluid…. I find that hard to believe, is that accurate? Some of the YouTube videos seem a little sketchy and I’m not sure if I want to trust some of the “info”.
So, if you guys could help me out, I could really use some help getting the following info.
Is there a front differential?
How much fluid does the 10 speed auto take for an oil change and is there a filter?
Is there a service manual available for this car?
Is there a filter inside the oil cooler and if so, what frequency does it need to be changed?
And lastly, will a Honda dealership carry the Acura oils/fluids?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
PS I have tried to become a member on the Acura group on Facebook but after days of waiting, my application is still under review 🙄

The fluid capacities and specified types are in the INFORMATION section of the owner's manual.
I'm not aware of any front differential, just the transfer case (which takes 0.61 quarts).
5 quarts for the engine oil change, which should put the level just above halfway between the dipstick marks.
The filter is under a removable metal panel, along with the oil drain plug. Get an oil filter from the dealer, or use something like Mobil1 oil filter
I think that the transmission may take a 20mm and an 18mm crush washer for fill and drain, as does
the rear differential. The transmission level check bolt is smaller, and may take a 10mm (??) crush
washer. There is also a possibility that you have a level check bolt with a captured washer, so that
is purchased as an assembly (or just purchase a regular level bolt and separate washer).
The transmission takes ~5.1 quarts of ATF-2.0 fluid. A filter hides under the transmission cooler/warmer, but
I haven't found out whether Acura recommends ever changing it. I also cannot find the factory filter available
at places selling Acura or Honda parts, just aftermarket. I may change it one time, with my 2nd fluid change -- or not.
I'm not aware of any service manuals that can be purchased. There is a very expensive online subscription service,
but someone posted that you can join for one day ($35 ? ) and download pdfs for whatever you want. There are good
online write-ups and/or YouTube videos for the fluid changes, and such as engine and cabin air filters. Check out the
DIY subforum on this RDX 3g forum.
Acura has their own part numbers for the fluids (usually the Honda number, followed by "A"). I'm pretty sure
that the transmission and transfer case fluids are the same as the Honda fluid, but there has been some
discussion that the rear differential fluid may not be the same for the Acura as for the AWD Honda cars.
I plan to use Acura fluids, except for the engine oil.
