OOPS... I left off the bodyside molding I also got.

Ok, deal's final. Had both local dealers competing against each other. The dealer I've been doing business with for the past 8 years is, again, the winner. They matched the $41,061 the other dealer was offering. They also threw in all weather mats, body side molding and a $500 gift card to use for their service department. We will be receiving a check back from them for the equity in our '09 for $3623. Payment is $488 per month for 36 months, 12,000 mile lease. We are getting the silver exterior w/the graystone leather interior. The car will be delivered in the 3rd week of September. Can't wait!!

End of the month is the time to buy!
My dealer knocked $1700 off the sticker and threw $800 dollars of accessories in.
|
I took home my Tech this afternoon---initial order 7/20, got the VIN 8/17, got word on 8/27 that it arrived on the train to town, took delivery at the dealership 8/29 . . . just to give people an idea about delivery times for factory-orders.

Why is your MSRP so high? I'm seeing FWD with Tech package with MSRP of $46,565. Including $895 dest fee, total is $47,460. Did those 5 options you listed really add $1,596?

A friend of mine is interested in the X. Has anyone bought a 2014 MDX in the Seattle area? What are prices looking like? Thanks.

I'm trying to close a 2014 MDX w/ TECH White/Parch deal and I'm getting frustrated. You think you have a price and then they throw in a $399 processing fee and $200 advertising fee, $600 worth of greasy add on's. I figured dealing with Acura dealers these type of old school dealer "fee's" would be a thing of the past or at least a throwback to the domestic gimmick dealers.
Installed accessories have varied as much as 25% between dealers. I get a better car price from one dealer, but much higher accessories price. Yes, I could buy from one dealer and go to another for accessories. Not exactly one stop shopping and I think the accessories need to be installed at time of sale for the warranty. I guess I expected more from a luxury line. My best deal is $46,500 w/ all weather mats, wheel locks, and hinged cargo tray, fees included. Remote start is $508 and fog lights $678, not bad but the other accessories were much higher. The dealer is almost acting like the accessories are a pain to deal with. |

Hey Guys,
I am in NJ and getting a deal for 2014 SH-AWD MDX Base - 42500 (without Tech) 2014 SH-AWD MDX Tech - 46500 Do you think i should hit it? I am first time buyer and i love the car. I think i will go for base as I don't need navigation. Suggestions? |
I would really recommend the tech if you can afford the additional cost. That's a very good price (I paid $47k about 2 months ago in NJ). The small things make a big difference like the blind spot monitoring and locking / unlocking the car from any door, not just the front. I actually regret not getting Advanced but couldn't afford it. Irish they didn't bundle the entertainment system with the Advance as I don't need it. That's one thing that was nice in the older models

Either way you'll be driving a very nice car and very lucky to be in a position to afford either. Good luck. |

Has anyone bought an SH-AWD advance recently, and if so how much we're you able to get off MSRP?
|
2200 off MSRP on black on black SH-AWD Tech
|
$3,300 off MSRP for AWD Advance (in Deleware)
Remember that asking what people pay when a trade-in is involved is almost pointless. Dealers can give you a bigger discount on the car if they know they are going to make extra money on your trade. I had a trade involved and they gave me over book value, but I know they could have come up more (maybe like $500). I paid about $1000 over invoice and they will probably make another $500-$1000 on my trade. |
$1,500 off MSRP on a base FWD, before they knew I had a trade in. This was end of August. Best deal I got in Houston, Texas.
|
I'm in Canada, but picked up an Elite (top of the line model up here) for $1000 over invoice and dealer threw in all-weather mats (all 3 rows) and free oil change. Works our to $4285 off of MSRP (since MSRP for the Elite is $65,995).
|
Great deal. Got mine with abt 2500 of msrp in Canada.
|
Got my AWD-Tech Package for $3,000 below MSRP. This includes all-season mats and 3 free oil change.

Update
Well...my dealer informed me they don't have the White Perl with Eucalyptus interior for AWD+Tech, he only has such color combination in AWD+Tech+Entertainment. I don't want the crappy DVD player & screen for another $2,000. But he offers me invoice price for it. I'm debating hard, should I bite it or just go with the White Perl + parchment that he has it readily avaiable in AWD+Tech only?

Just a couple weeks ago when we were told of production delays, we seriously considered just accepting Parchment interior, which was plentiful around my area. I personally cannot stand Parchment/Tan interiors, but the wife did not mind. I'm sure glad we waited. The step up to Entertainment will be 2k MSRP, but invoice would be a bit less than that. In addition to the crappy DVD (which is OK but we've been spoiled by HD), it includes rear window sunshades, a bit more upgraded stereo, 110v outlet in the center console and most importantly to us, heated second row seats. Good luck on your decision. |
Just bought a Base SH-AWD yesterday and got it for $41,800. It did take a little negotiating but I was pleased at the end of the deal. :)

If I wouldn't follow this forum I wouldn't know where to be when shopping for a vehicle. After seeing what others get for their cars at this time, I feel like I am entering a fair deal. Dealerships ammo themselves with all possible information, I don't see why a smart buyer should not do the same. If you mean the price will change down the road, Acura will give some incentives, etc. I don't care about that since I am buying the car right now not in half a year. |

Hi, just curious, why do you think the prices are meaningless?
If I wouldn't follow this forum I wouldn't know where to be when shopping for a vehicle. After seeing what others get for their cars at this time, I feel like I am entering a fair deal. Dealerships ammo themselves with all possible information, I don't see why a smart buyer should not do the same. If you mean the price will change down the road, Acura will give some incentives, etc. I don't care about that since I am buying the car right now not in half a year. Say I buy a car with an MSRP's of $50,000 and invoice is $45,000. I work out a sale price of $40,000 thinking I got an amazing deal. But really, they only gave me $10,000 for my trade in that was worth $15,000, they gave me a finance rate of 2.99% when really the bank gave them a rate of 1.99%, and they tacked on some fees like an advertising fee, preparation fee, and a really high doc fee. So instead of getting the car for $5,000 below invoice and sticking it to the dealer, they made $5,000 on my trade in, $500-$1000 from the bank on the finance deal, and a couple hundred bucks in meaningless fees that people are too uncomfortable arguing over. And that's not even including the various things the finance manager tries to sell you like upholstery/paint protections and extended warranties that are all have mark up where they make money on too. So again, unless someone pays cash (or uses their own financing) with no trade-in involved and doesn't pay for any accessories or protection packages, then what they paid for a car is completely meaningless. |
