Top Speed question?

Top Speed question?
Purchased a 2016 MDX SH-AWD advance ent two months ago and am very pleased with the vehicle thus far.
It appears the 2016 MDX is limited to 115mph. Wondering if this is a result of the lightening of the driveline to prevent things from flying apart.
Does anyone know if it is possible to increase the top speed to match the vehicles tire rating of 130mph?
Had a 2011 QX56 that would hit 130 and that is what the tires were rated for.
FYI- I reside in a very rural area with lots of long two lane roads and zero traffic. This is not something I do when driving daily but would like the ability to enjoy this on occasion.

it's most likely Electronically limited.
so, unless you crack the ECU by piggy backing it or replacing the ECU with a flashed one, you will likely not be able to remove the limiter.
also, MDX is a big brick, like you assumed...it might not fare well in higher triple digit speeds.
anther point to point out to you....
what's the difference between going 115 mph on those back rural roads and 130mph?
you're not likely to to reach 130mph in a span of 6 secs of reaching 115, if possible.

^and you're likely to run out of road before you hit that 155, as you have an automatic and 4th gear isnt optimized to go that far.
in my six speed manual TL, ive only done it once, and I quickly ran out of road.
to be honest, there's not much of a difference once you're in triple speeds.. 115mph feels pretty much the same as 130mph
my quickest acceleration gear is 3rd...and that tops out at about 109-110mph..
top of fourth will take me past 120mph...
but again, i run out of road...

Also yes very off topic.....but really a funny topic to be honest. I once went 160km/h in my BMW X5....that was the fastest I ever have gone in any car ever....can't imagine complaining about going 115 not 130MPH.....I mean really.

Intermediate
The super low top speed is definitely something I don't like. I have been on the interstate in the X5 and punch it around a group of cars and notice I did 115 - 120 mph for a very short burst. The X5 had an Autobahn option that raised the limit to155. I think 125 -130 would be more appropriate. The MDX certainly feels stable at 95 -100.

For me, it is never about the top speed, but more about how fast it can get there lol

Just be happy its not worse, if the tires were S rated it would be 112.
Speed limiters are simply a way for manufacturers to skimp on more expensive tires
