Timing Belt for 33k mile 2019 MDX???

Hi everyone

2019 MDX, garage baby at 33k miles here in Florida. Has a few fluids done today at the dealer and they recommended \:

1.Timing belt/water pump replacement due to its age vs. miles.
2. Upper and lower Radiator hoses due to same age vs miles

Wanted to get your thoughts...Quoted $2000

Is it really time even at 33k miles?...Should I look at another shop who works on Japanese cars for this if you all think its a good idea?

Thanks

I have a 18 RLX with 48,000 miles. At around 6000 miles per year, it is going to be around 9-10 more years before I reach 105,000 miles timing belt service. I'm planning to change out my timing belt before year 10 or sometime in 2027. I've never heard of the upper/lower radiator hoses being change during TB service? My 3 previous Acura's were between 175,000-220,000 miles with zero issues with either radiator hoses. My 19 MDX has +88,000 miles and I'm perfectly fine with waiting until 105,000 service code for timing belt when it pops up in the next 18-24 months (if no code, change out in 2028).

Thank you for your input...I think hes looking at the rubber degradation factor for belt and hoses here in Florida but you give me a lot to think about

Im having trouble wrapping my head around it as I see both sides

I live in high desert in NM and travel a lot in the west/southwest with a much wider temp range of near/below 0 degrees F in winter and up to triple digits in summer. My 18 RLX and 19 MDX are sport hybrids without serpentine belts. I would ask if the service includes the serpentine belt kit, oil change, spark plugs, valve adjustment, valve cover gaskets? I guess it wouldn't matter when you change out the TB if you are planning to keep the MDX for another +7 year minimum? My Acura dealership just raised their labor to $200 per hour. I paid around $1550 for a full TB service on my 11 MDX from my Acura dealership back in 2018. Bad thing about waiting is prices are just going to go up.

If you have one nearby, check them out to save large $$$.

Here is the complete timing belt kit at rockauto. OEM dealer components could be easily triple the cost.

Search the OEM part numbers below on rock auto to find aftermarket alternatives for lower dollars?

no tensioner, no drive belt and other pulleys? Nevermind, pass.. go find a local indie mechanic that can replace everything in that area for that much money. Dealerships are such scum.

Personally no, i’d be comfortable waiting a bit longer. But everyone has different risk tolerances . I’m all for replacing rubber bits when it gets older, but you’re barely at the beginning of the 7 year mark. I’ve pushed it closer to 10 and been okay
