Test Drive of the 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid
#41
I test drove the Sport Hybrid yesterday and was very impressed to say the least. The Advance I drove has the idle stop of course and while I did not perceive any hesitation when accelerating from stop, asked the salesman where the "off switch" was and he did not know. can someone shed loght on this?
No lease incentives at this time and the interest rate in the lease is high-4.32% so I will be patient (for now).

you mean turn off the idle stop?
You just have to press the "D/S" button to change to Sport mode. This prevents ICE from turning off

I got 2.19% when I purchased mine. I shopped my credit and negotiated one bank against the other for my business. I started at 4.5% and then worked my way down. The time value of money makes these loans so stupendously cheap.
Regarding the idle stop, Getakey is right. Both the RLX and MDX Sport Hybrids are wonderful automobiles, although not perfect. There is always something one could grip about with any car at any price point.

Agree that pushing the D/S to S turns off the idle stop but I thought that was to select the sequential mode, isn't sport selected with the same button as the comfort/normal/sport/sport+ button??

You are right. I used term Sport instead of Sequential.
Sport is easier to spell
