SH-AWD and tire wearing?

Just wonder if SH-AWD will wear the tires unevenly due to the way it works? any observation from MDX owners?

Nope, not unless you are spending a lot of time accelerating out of the twisties.
Plus proper rotation should even that out as well.

It shouldn't with proper tire rotation... This is the third Acura I've owned with SH-AWD (formerly an RL SH-AWD Tech and a ZDX SH-AWD Tech before the MDX) I haven't experienced any uneven wear at all in the past 7 years.

as long as toe = 0 on the alignment rack, you will not get any funny wear

I have Conti DWS on all three of my Acuras. I got the full 50,000 miles on the TSX from the tires. I only got about 35,000 miles on the RDX (replaced them after the "S" wore off and "W" half gone). My wife and I drive the same commuter and errand route majority of the time. I figure the sh-awd is wearing the rear tires a little bit more because of the "awd" (not the "sh" part) compared to the TSX rear tires that are only being dragged along. The Conti DWS and too new on the MDX to see if sh-awd will wear closer to the TSX or RDX.

I did notice on the sh-awd graph in the M.I.D. the torque split is tune more aggressively and more rear bias on the MDX compared to my RDX. In hard acceleration and high G turns the graph is 2-3 bars higher on the "sh" driven wheel(s) on the MDX. I'm thinking I might see the same 35,000 miles or less on the MDX because of this on the Conti DWS.

Just like the others here said - two SH AWD cars since 2006, one of which (2006 RL) saw 90K miles of service. No uneven wear observed. Actually for the RL, we went through three sets of tires before we sold it and we noticed very even wear patterns on the last set we retired. MDX is still on its OEM set and no cause for concern at all.

I noticed FWD front tires wear faster than the rears, on the SH-AWD they wear more evenly, which makes sense.
Just make sure your alignment and balance is correct.
