Service Manual?
Service Manual?
Anyone know where to get a 3rd gen Service Manual? I used to rent one for a day from the Honda Service site but that has been turned off by Honda although the page still comes up. The new site fails to work for me in any browser. Anyone know of an accurate book? I wonder if this will end up another John Deere action where the owners have to sue Honda to get access to repair manuals and equipment. Anyway, looking for a service manual of some kind. TPMS and Brakes right now.

This MDX forum is not the only one that suffers from diminished traffic.
With that said, here are a couple of FSM links for 2014 & 2015 MDX's, take your pick for $49.99?

2014 Acura MDX Service and Repair Manual - Repairmanualnow All make and model repair and service manuals !!!
2015 Acura MDX Service and Repair Manual - Repairmanualnow All make and model repair and service manuals !!!
At one point I was trying to find the FSM for my roommate's 2005 Buick Rainier. I ended up finding a forum post with a login for Chilton (or some other subscription service - can't recall which) that you could access via some random town library's webpage.
The site didn't have downloadable PDFs, which was a shame, but I could access basically any service manual on there. I think I saved a bookmark on my other computer and will look when I'm off work.

I'll try eautorepair.net to see what they have. Here is what I discovered about the Honda site. The old login does not work to allow a login - although it will recognize you and allow you a password reset. If you put in the wrong account name it will tell you the account doesn't exist - so it knows your account. If you click to subscribe daily it will say estore refused. However if you go to the https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.aspx site and click on professional services (the expensive ones) it will redirect you to their new service site where you can reregister and subscribe at their daily rate which is now $30 a day. Ouch. If you want to use the new site you have to download and install their download manager software. If you decide to do that you MUST turn off your anti-virus and or Windows defender. If you fail to do that the install will hang on your computer, and uninstall will hang it again, and give you fits. Once you reboot, and then turn off the anti-virus you can uninstall the failed install, reboot again, turn off the Anti virus again, and then install and it will go smoothly in 10 - 12 seconds.
Just as an observation based on how Acura abandoned all owners with telematics 2020 and prior for their new system, just like they abandoned the prior generation that used Onstar for the Acuralink generation they just abandoned, combine that with $30 a day to look at a manual for your car instead of the $10 it used to be - Honda is just plain ole greedy and doesn't give a hoot about their clients. That or they have people in their organization who fail to communicate how many people don't buy a honda/acura because of these things. Just my 2cents worth. If you subscribed twice a month for a year that would be $720 a year so $30 is quite unreasonable. It should be like $5 a day or $30 a week for DIY. That assumes a person would come back three or four times a year at minimum for a week at a time, and that would yield them $120 a year times however many years someone owned the car.
For what it is worth, the Acura dealer where we are is now handling lots of other brands almost new used cars for sale, and the number of people bringing their cars in for service has been low when I have been by there. 10 years ago there was a line at the door. Drive a couple dealerships down and the other brands are pretty busy. The one thing I did learn in my 50 years sales management and IT management, is that the consumer you want as a customer responds well to good service, and that begins with the manufacturers' products you sell. When I go to places that rate cars, Acura is no longer way up at the top, it is about the middle. It used to be right up at the top. So I am not the only one who notices.

I forgot to check last night but will try to remember tonight.
Just buy older Hondas lol. I'm keeping my 2011 RDX till the day I die, and I'm going to look at a 2011 Accord Couple V6 / 6MT next week. Personally I can't stand any of these new cars.
