Remote start accessory

We're getting an AWD-Tech and my wife wants the remote start installed. Did anybody get this (accessory, not part of Advance)? I'd like to know how it works

Previous Honda systems were annoying:
1. You had to carry a separate fob (I guess not the end of the world)
2. If you remote started the vehicle you had to turn it off when you get in and start it again with the key before you can drive (make no sense at all)

Appreciate sharing your experience if you have it

I got it installed for my for MDX Tech/Ent. It's the same as the one that comes with the Advance. It works the same too. There's no separate fob and you don't have to turn the engine off once you get into the vehicle.

No separate keyfob, all in one. Also provide 2 way feedback via 3 LEDs. So you know if your lock command actually worked and if your remote start actually started the car.

I have it installed on my 2014 Tech.

How much did your dealer charge you to add this? Seems like it would be a great feature during very hot or very cold days.

I was quoted $532 just by calling a dealer over the phone according to Acura documentation it is 0.8 hours to install so that's in the ball park.

My dealer quoted $1300 for remote start, backup sensors and hinged cargo mat. Not sure what others are paying for these but I'd like to bring the price down a bit
