Are you referring to the bumper reflector?

I'm about to take delivery of my MDX and this is the first item I want to address...more along the lines of how to remove them.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I'll be taking a look as soon as I pick up the car so I will report back then.

I think they were meant to be just reflectors though.

Those reflector openings can be used for "rear fog lights" as in some European vehicles.

I thought about doing it by putting some LEDs light as to how I did to my 4G TL until I saw the price of the reflector for the MDX. If I get a spare set it will cost about $130 each.

I crawled under the car and noticed that it's held in by a few screws, and what appears to be a bulb holder. I'm sure we can source out the correct plugs, by my concern would be where to tap the power from.

I like the idea of LED lights from a previous poster. On the prototype mdx they had LED lights. Looked real good in my opinion. If someone could do such a thing and posted, it would be amazing.

Rear Bumper Reflectors, Acura Made It Easy..

I have scoped out this project and determined that the upper half of the reflector is a Reflector, but the lower half is clear red plastic... Placing high intensity Led’s, 2 rows behind the clear red plastic.

One row is for brake lights or turn signals. The second row is for night time running lights... How to feed power to it!! I will feed it from the power plug that is used to feed the trailer hitch power socket.

You will need to use a volt meter to find the correct pin out, don't have a electrical service manual. If you have the trailer hitch and socket already installed this is very easy..

Not sure if i want to have brake lights or turn signals, leaning towards brake lights.. One row will definitely be nighttime running lights to compliment the rear LED night time running light... Hope this helps...

BTW, the picture of the prototype looks SO NICE!!! If you are going to put Chrome in the back, it needs to go across the entire lower back, not a piece in the middle. The GL350 Benz has it right..
