So my father recently purchased a 2017 mdx sh adv, and while bringing it home from nj, roughly five hours into the drive, the transmission started lurching and the engine would rev with each lurch. After arguing with the the audi dealer he bought it from, a couple months later it's back at his house and we are trying to fix it. When the doors are locked and the car is completely off for a couple minutes we measured a draw of 1.8 to 1.9 amps coming from the battery with a clamp meter. We tried all the fuses and never got more than a .3 amp drop, although we did have the doors unlocked so it's possible we may have to do that again. We were going to get the alternator tested, but after reading this I'm wondering if maybe this is a normal draw and we just need to get an AGM battery? Also with a new battery the audi dealer installed the mdx sat in the garage for two days and then when we went to open the door it made the classic Honda dead battery clicking noise.
