Oil filter access on Sport Hybrid

When my MDX was on the lift having the tires changed out I noticed there wasn't much space to get the oil filter out. There is a plastic wheel arch shrouding on one as well as suspension height sensor right below and off to the side. Has anyone done the oil change at home and if so how did you get the oil filter out? Did you have to remove ant of these parts to access the filter?

I've done two oil changes on our MDX Hybrid so far, both times with the car lifted with a floor jack and I removed the filter from underneath the car with a filter wrench without having any issues with access.

I've done a oil change with no lift or jacks, its a tight squeeze but its doable.

When you remove the filter do you cover the suspension or have a way to manage the oil coming out or just wipe everything down afterwards.

I didn't notice any oil getting on the suspension, i did get oil around the location right around the oil filter but that's no biggy. I always place cardboard under the car to catch any oil. The location of the oil filter is a bit tricky to get out and in but its doable.

The regular MDX is tight also. I cut out a larger radius with tin snips. Sorta sloppy job, but it works Much better.

Thanks for all the info and advice. I purchased the Form_A_Funnel and it worked extremely well. Not a drop of oil leaked onto the frame!
