I've had my 2016 MDX AWD/Tech for about 2 weeks now. I'm loving it so far, but today, I experienced an unusual "glitch" with the navigation screen. It happened twice, both times with my nav screen showing, and both times after a phone call. After concluding the call, instead of reverting back to the full width map display, which it usually does, I got this partial map screen, with a line that presumably was the boundary of the phone screen, and a partially blank section off to the right.
Hit the audio button to switch the upper display to audio and then back to nav, screen was fine.
Today was the first time I've noticed this behavior. Anyone else see this, maybe on an earlier model?
That's a good bug find. I would try to report it to Acura corporate somehow. Tell them what you posted above with the photo and include your phone model. Or just send them a link to this page.
What's your overall impression of the 2016 infotainment system?
That is definitely odd, and good that you caught it on a photo, as to when it happens. A video could also help.
Does the line just then stay there until you switch screens or slowly go away? I've not seen that before on any 2014+ MDX, RLX, or TLX...other than some system slowness, or once in a while the phone screen getting stuck on for too long of a time.
It stayed in place long enough that I then switch the screen to "audio" and then back to "nav" to see if it would return to normal, which it did. I don't know how long I waited though, probably 10 seconds or so. If it happens again, I'll leave it to see how long it remains.
In the meantime, I emailed the photo to my service department manager today, who confirmed that he would forward it to the appropriate software people at corporate. I guess it "could" be hardware, but it appears to me to be a small bug that could be addressed in a future update.
