What issues are you experiencing with your TLX?

None so far, I'm only 600 miles in though.. I freaking love mine. Some people have issues with the infotainment, it does take some getting use to, but it's all about repetition. I have no major issues with it.

My trans is smooth once warm...grabs a little when cold first thing in the morning. No vibrations to speak of in 1800 miles .

2016 MDX: We got occasional transmission "slip" feeling in the first 2200 miles when leaving the driveway in freezing temperatures, but no issues once warm. Hasn't repeated recently, but it's also warmer. Next winter will tell the tale when the system is broken in.

As the owner of a 2003 TL Type S that needed the transmission changed after the class-action lawsuit, I feel your pain.

Not sure where you're from... the Greater Toronto Area navigation sucks. Avoids putting you on Toll HIghway no matter how you set your preferences. No "intelligent" street search. e.g.: A major street like Steeles Ave is in "Concord", "North York", etc. even though that area is generally considered part of Toronto. Couldn't they have just paid Garmin some royalties for a decent system?

^^^^^

I also had a 2002 TL-S that had the transmission from Hell. The tranny had been replaced once, and after the extended tranny warranty was over, every little tranny hiccups was giving me heart attacks, fearing that I would have to dish out $5K+ from my own pocket to replace the failing out-of-warranty tranny.

But that was the worst case from Acura.

My 4G TL only has an excessive oil consumption issue, and nothing so far for my 3G MDX.

I got a 2016 MDX with just over 14,000km on it and my tranny is acting up.... Jerking when shifting from 2-3 and 3-4. If I'm doing 60-70km/h and then take my foot off gas pedal rolling towards the intersection slowing down to 20-30km/h and then, after making a turn, trying to accelerate - it hesitate to shift for a good 4-5 seconds.
Took it to the dealer and they performed the software upgrade and reset. Didn't help much.... Any ideas on what else can be done here?

Yes usually when I start up the car when I haven't driven for a day or a couple hours.

Same when cold trans is a little slow to shift. Have to let it warm up about 1 - 2 min of driving then normal.

Overall the MDX is great other than the whole entire infotainment system. If this were maybe 5-7 years ago it would be adequate, but compared to what else is available it is awful. In all honesty, my idrive on my 2006 BMW was better. Why must I have to go so may steps into the screen to do things. For example, recirculating air. There is a button for it. Shouldn't you just be able to hit that button to turn it on and off? No, it just brings you to another screen where you have to select from other buttons. It's just on or off! Same for the heated seats. Should be able to just hit the button each time for low, med, high and off. These functions take your eyes off the road and are major distractions. They also should have moved the control knob for everything to the console. It's a bit of a reach and with no shift lever, there is no place to rest your arm.
The other issue I have, which i have had with other Acuras is the use of cheap plastic in the interior. They really need to take the jump and use more soft surfaces, metal, wood and leather. It is still too Honda. Unfortunately Honda has a better infotainment. Lol.

Other than that, the MDX is fantastic. It drives very smoothly for how well it handles. It drives smaller than it is. The acceleration is pretty decent, but you need to really push the pedal down to get it to move. Seats are very comfy.

All Honda and Acura uses cheap plastic to cut cost. I remember some 20 - 30 years ago Honda have excellent material and does not break easily. I recalled door panel they have 10 screws to take them apart. Nowadays, to take door panels, there will be no more than 2-3 screws to take them out and very flimsy.
