Managing multiple iPhones on 2020 MDX hybrid
I have a somewhat neutered iPhone from my employer and then a personal full function iPhone. Personal iphone has my music and audiobooks, so inclined for that to be hooked up to Carplay via the usb input. However I have work calls that I would like to make from my other phone, but it is disabled when my personal phone is plugged in. What strategies do people use to manage multiple phones in this generation of mdx? Ideally when either rings I would like to answer hands free, and that also doesn’t seem possible.

I've never noticed the second bluetooth connected iPhone was disabled when the primary iPhone was connected to carplay.
Do you also use your carplay connected personal iPhone for texts, Siri commands, and navigation also? We usually use our iPhone 6S+ connected with bluetooth for handsfree/streaming audio. I don't use Carplay as much I thought I would (only using MDX knob really sucks with touchscreen apps). Cell coverage can be down to 0-2 bars once I leave the city limits and the early IOS 13 updates knocked it out carplay for months last fall. I plug-in my iPhone to carplay if I need to navigate to an address on the go since we are locked out of Acura navi in drive (Acuralink is more miss than hit and very slow to send addresses).
The only minor issue is when the other phone is paired as the primary and my audio stuff is on the other iPhone. Still haven't learned the menu buttons on Acura console to switch between the phones. I turn off the bluetooth on primary paired iPhone, let the MDX switch to 2nd paired phone, and then turn iPhone bluetooth back on.

My wife and I both have iphones paired to each vehicle - and essentially a vehicle can see only one at a time, and it chooses the last one it saw. So when we get in the car with both iphones, it's not immediately apparent which one is paired. I haven't tried using CarPlay on one and trying to bluetooth connect to the other - so not sure how that would work.

I'd say there is a one PHONE limit, iphone or android, doesn't make a difference. And that's been the case on all my vehicles with phone connectivity. I can pair multiple phones or connect mulitple phones to the vehicle, but only ONE is controlled. Either by first/last connected or a priority that sometimes can be set.
