I have had 2 years of flawlessly syncing the address book of my iphone with my MDX. Now after the latest iOS update, the address book won't sync. My Speed Dials are still there. The only number in the vehicle's address book is my own number. I have deleted the MDX bluetooth profile from my iphone and re-paired it. This was an exercise in futility. The attempt to pair the phone with the vehicle kept failing. Finally it worked. I could have deleted the iphone profile from the MDX but this would erase all my speed dials so I did not try this.

I still get messages from my iphone to the MDX display.

This is solely the fault of Apple. Tim Cook is in a downward spiral. The last update also killed my iphone battery.

Time to go back to Android? But I had lots of issues pairing by Galaxy to my MDXs.

On another note, Siri works great in the MDX for dialing contacts in my address book on my iphone. I am now forced to use this feature. It integrates well with the MDX system.

 

Just think, you could have a Windows phone!

 

When I took delivery of my '17 MDX Tech this past weekend, I tried to pair my iphone that had recently been updated to iOS 11, and it had all sorts of issues, similar to yours. I rebooted my iphone and have had no problems since, with a fresh pairing and sync of the address book after that. Not sure what the deal was, but it was crazy until I restarted the phone.....

 

Is any sort of software update required for the car to work with newer phones? My 2014 MDX doesn't want to sync with my iPhone running iOS11.

 

Having the same problem here with my 2016 ILX Running ios11 firmware as well. I tried deleting the phone and repairing it to the Bluetooth list. It’s only a temporary fix, once you turn the car off it reverts back to not syncing contacts.

 

It was reported earlier that this is a problem: pictures! If you have pictures assigned to the contacts, it creates all kind of issues. Delet all pictures from your contacts and re- install the phone. That should get you back to normal.
