Locking and Unlocking
Locking and Unlocking
Hi i have some questions, is there any way to increase the noise to lock and unlock the car? Im talking about the beeping noise? Sometimes if i'm far i cant tell if i locked the car and have to press multiple times.
Also is there an auto lock feature? On my caddi, the car automatically locks when i walk away from the car which i find very convenient if i forget to lock the car. Ive walked away from my car last couple days and realized when i came back it was unlocked. Gosh... thanks everyone!!!

The only 'Auto Lock' that takes place is if you unlock the vehicle either with the FOB or touching the handle and not opening the door within your pre-defined time period (this value can be customized). However, as for getting out of your car and closing the door and waiting for it to lock...it won't happen with the Factory system.

In fact there is an autolock feature in most hondas.
The doors will lock when you shift to drive and unlock when you shift to park
The doors will lock after 30 seconds if you unlock them with the fob and dont open a door
I dont think there is any other autolock that works any different (Ford works the same) In all cars Ive had you have to lock the doors with the fob after leaving the vehicle. On the MDX you can lock and unlock them by simply touching the door sensor (tech and above) or you can use the fob.

^^^ if you read the OP's original question, you could have responded accordingly. He is asking if there is a way to have the car "lock itself" when he walks away from the car (in case he forgets). Like a fail-safe way to make sure the car is locked. No, the MDX does NOT have this feature. If you press LOCK on the key fob twice, it will beep. On the 2013, you can adjust the loudness of the beep - I think you can also on the 14. Or you can use the AcuraLINK app on your smart phone. Or you can use the button on the door handle(s) if you have the key in close proximity to the car. I honestly wasn't even aware of Cadillac's autolock feature that locks the car when you walk away, even if you don't tell it to. I'm not sure I like that feature. I lock the car without even thinking, just like when I get in the car and automatically put my seatbelt on. Just a habit. Or when I walk through my front door, I automatically lock it.

.
With the "Keyless Access Beep" function turned on, one just need to touch the inside of the door handle to hear 2 beeps, then door(s) will be unlocked.
Press the black circular button on the door handle to hear 1 beep, then all door(s) will be locked.
