Keyless Control Module issue?

Hi all, I have a 2016 Mdx with 94k miles, and lately, it's been having this issue where all the internal electronics (cluster, infotainment, internal lighting, etc) go haywire, turning off and on on their own, non stop. Headlights turn on also, and sometimes the alarm goes off too, though not as often as the other items mentioned. If I unlock and lock the car, it stops, but then starts again, also making click noises. Last night it did it again, and thinking it stopped, it completely killed the battery during the night and I had to jump start it this morning. When it started to run again, I got an error saying "transmission problem, see manual". Basically couldn't put it into any gear position, until after few power cycles of the car. Dealer looked at it and said the Keyless Control Unit shorted and needs replacement, and it's on a 6 month back order because it's an Acura only part. Dealer said you'll have to simply unplug the battery in the meantime so it won't drain, or trade in the car and let someone else deal with it... Anyone heard of this kind of thing? Why would he want me to trade it in? Seems like in that case they'd fix it and resell rather than sit on an SUV with this issue. Dealer also said it could cause the car to stop/turn off while driving.

I've read somewhere here that the key fobs could potentially also cause this if they're in close proximity? Doesn't seem right either.

Battery is a common issue. On the newer Acuras they usually last no more than 3-4 years.

That was my initial thought, but I had it tested at Advance Auto Parts and was told it's good. It's actually about 1.5 years old.

I unplugged the (+) side from the battery overnight just in case it happens again, then plugged it back, and so far no issue yet. Going to have a mechanic look into it more. Same mechanic said he's heard of similar things and some cars it was the Bluetooth module, some wifi, where they cause parasitic draw
