Idle stop off permanently!
Thought I’d share as I installed the Idlestopper on my TLX and now the auto idle stop system is OFF automatically at each startup so no more button pressing. Doesn’t disable it permanently and if you wish to turn it back on you just have to press the button. Wish this was the way it came from the factory.

I would love to be able to set the Auto Brake Hold to stay on all the time instead of having to manually engage it every time.

It was not hard to install at all. Really just remove the shifter assembly and connect 3 wires. Took about 20-30 min and the provided connectors were so easy to use. No wire cutting or anything like that. They have install instructions on their website and a YouTube video as well.

Wont void the warranty on the whole car. Only thing it could possibly even void the warranty on is the off switch and the console power socket that it’s attached to.

All 19+ MDXs and RDXs regardless of model trim come with the auto idle stop system. Im gonna assume the new TLX will as well most likely on every trim level. Just sucks that its not an "opt in" system but the manufacturers are all handcuffed by rising fuel mileage standard.

The hybrid MDX/RLX don't have an Auto Stop/Start system. They have an EV mode that works with our without the V-6 engine from a stop or almost any speed (even at speeds up to 75 mph). Putting the MDX in Sport+ or the RLX in Sport mode disables EV mode (EV mode becomes MAX power mode).

I installed the idlestopper on my 2019 Acura RDX just yesterday. I KNOW I can just push the button, but I always forget and then get annoyed. The idlestopper works!!!!!! My local mechanic would not touch the install, nor would another place I talked to. I understand their reasoning, so I figured I'd tackle it myself. The YouTube video on the disassembly of the interior components was dead on. I found the wiring to be tedious - only because I lack patience and the wires are so small and not that easy to access on the RDX power accessory end. Two of the connectors, although awesome in theory, were defective, and one I probably broke :-( - Luckily I had similar style connectors in the garage. Now that the car is back together, I am very happy I made the decision. Warranty be damned :-) They can be purchased at www.idlestopper.com Note: I am in no way affiliated with idlestopper.com - I just hate auto idle stop .....and that it is not off by default.

Maybe it is just me, but I find it weird for folks to buy a vehicle with a major feature they so dislike. To the point of having to buy and install a hack and potentially void their warranty should something happen. Is the rest of the vehicle that spectacular that you couldn’t find an alternative to your liking without the idle stop? I’d get it if that idle stop is on all vehicles.

Hi moose66: Not trying to argue, but I will answer. I cannot answer for others on this thread, only for myself. First, I had a 2013 Acura RDX and loved it, so my inclination was to get another one. The salesman really was not specific about the default setting on the idle stop. Granted, I could have done more research, but overall liked the car, could order with black rims, and was a good value for the money., Since I did not previously have auto idle stop, I did not know it would bug me so much, and that I'd get 'senior moments' and forget to shut it off each time I started the car. It is just a pain. On the flip side of your question should I sell a car I pretty much like just becuase I don't like the auto idle stop, or if there is a correction to my likeing for $80.00, should I give it a shot? Honestly, I would love to get a BMW X3 M, but we all know I would get slammed on the trade-in on a 2019 RDX ( and I can't really afford it) :-)
