Favourite A-Spec features

Since there was a similar thread for the Tech package, I wanted to advise on my favourite features.

1) Auto lock when you walk away from the car and beeping to advise if the car does not lock.
2) Power folding mirrors with puddle lights.
3) Automatic touch doors - all 4 doors.
4) Blacked out chrome, grey wheels, A-Spec badges, maybe a few too many.
5) Aspec badge on steering wheel, with thick knurled leather steering wheel.
6) Black ceiling roof liner.
7) Red dials for instrument cluster and pointers.
8) Red ambient lighting over the console and rear areas, at each door handle, footwells.
9) Apple Carplay (first time I have had it).
10) Large exhaust finishers.
11) Black chrome front grill and rear bezel..

I am sure there are more things, but this car is quite an improvement over my 2017 RDX Elite I got out of. (good car though).

Anyone else have favourite features?

Saw an A-Spec for the first time in person this week. Someone was staying at the same hotel as I was. It was the gray with the gray wheels. Loved that combo and the look. Not a fan of an all blacked out vehicle. But the all gray (body and wheels) looked pretty slick. Also like the dual exhaust tips which appeared closer to the edge of the rear. I peaked inside and didn't see anything special, but it was close to dark. So I may have missed something.

Very good, had it on my 17 RDX. It's a feature I would always want now that I have had it.

The difference in the interior from a normal MDX is as follows:

1) Red coloured gauges and pointers as opposed to white.
2) Leather and alcantera seats instead of full leather.
3) Black ceiling liner, instead of light grey.
4)Carbon fibre trim bits instead of the wood trim.
5) Aspec badge on the steering wheel with thicker leather and perforated leather to the area you hold onto.
6) Aspec badges to the doors sills (all 4).
7) Red ambient lighting to all door handles, footwells and over the console and rear as opposed to white I think.

Are the Alcantera seat inserts front seats only or 2nd and 3rd row also?

May be a dumb question, but are any of the black chrome parts from the A-spec able to be fitted to a non-A-spec?

I looked a few pieces like trim around the windows being replaced with the Aspec black and it would have been very expensive with parts+labor to change them out. The Aspec also has a different front and rear bumper. Some folks did a chrome delete with black vinyl wrap or used the spray on Plastic Dip method. Spray on Plastic Dip might be the best way because it can be a little more durable than wrap, can last years, and easier to replace/repair as needed. I ended up doing Plastic dip for my MDX to black out the chrome for about $500.

The 1st and second only. 3rd likely a faux leather. Never use them.

I would expect so, just black instead of chrome.

I got a loaner today -- 2019 White MDX A-Spec to supplement my 2017 Advance. A few thoughts:
  1. The exterior is 100% cooler than the 'regular' version of the vehicle. The A-Spec badges are sharp; the wheels are badass.
  2. The interior features basically mimic the Advance -- remote start, heated and ventilated seats, walk-away locks -- LKA, etc -- I think the only feature not included from the Advance was the 360 surround view.
  3. What didn't add up was the interior in general. Black and red alcantara; fake(?) carbon fiber everywhere. It was like being in a wannabe sports car despite it being an entry-luxe SUV. It just didn't add up.
We were glad to get our original car back.

The only feature Acura forgot to add to the A-Spec package was the electronic dampers. When I purchased my 06 TSX A-Spec, it was a dealer installed option (suspension, body kit, rear wing, badging). Harder to do with the current MDX; but, it would be nice to add the A-Spec front/rear bumper to the Adv or Hybrid models. I would even love the blacked out chrome look to be an accessory we can add-on like other car manufacturers provide.
