Electronic parking brake and auto brake hold

Is there a way to disable the the park brake to engage automatically every time?
Is there a way to program the auto brake hold to be on by default?

No.
A bit of rewiring and adding a relay should cure the second thought. This is a commom mod over on the Ram Cummins forums for the exhaust brake.

I washed a blue Civic TypeR the other day and the driver kept fumbling with the parking brake and kept switching in and out of nuetral for like 10 seconds, so I get the annoyance aspect out of this.

I asked, and he said the car was "just alright"...

I fight with the parking brake all the time until it eventually disengages.

Are you using the parking brake all the time out of habit for parking only or when driving with brake hold function? I usually don't use my parking brake unless I'm parked on an incline. Don't like it when the vehicle rolls a little bit when you put it into park and release the brakes on an incline (don't think it is good for the transmission). I've also notice the 7DCT "clunks" into reverse if I'm on an incline and go from "P" to "R". Never "clunks" into gear on level ground. Helps to use the Brake Hold feature to reduce the "clunk" on inclines.

Not using the ebrake when parked can damage the park pawl in the transmission. That clunk referred to above is the park pawl in a bind being forced to unlatch. The correct way is to stop, activate the ebrake, shift to park shut off the motor. You can reverse that IF you keep your foot on the service brake after shifting to park and activating the ebrake. This stuff was taught to new drivers back in the old days when things were actually taught to kids.

The parking brake engages by itself. Many times when I turn on the engine, the Park brake is on. I certainly did not engage it before shutting off the engine.

I always engage the parking brake. Then, if someone else has to drive my car, it starts beeping at them because they never think to disengage it.

I'm still trying to learn the quirks with my 19 MDX also. I haven't noticed anything other that normal operation with my parking brake (engage P-brake, place into park, and turn off engine). The red brake light in the console is on when I start the MDX later. Only use the parking brake a few times when I have to park on an incline. I have to watch out to see if there is something I'm missing or features about the electronic P-brake I don't know about?
