Does Acuralink remote start work on 2014 MDX?

It looks to me like the Acuralink iOS app is an add on to the Acuralink services. Some sites I've viewed say 2014 and up support acuralink, and then I found an acura site that said only 2016+ had acuralink. I'm looking at buying a 2014 Elite (advanced) and I'm curious if it will have the remote start on the app. And if it does, what level of Acuralink package do I need to buy to get it.

Thanks.

Sorry, you won't be able to remote start thru the app, only the new RDX has this option.

The 2014 Elite/Advance does come with a key fob remote start. You will be limited to range of FOB compared to the AcuraLink version.

So to your question about whether the 14 MDX supports Acuralink the answer is yes. However as mrgold said, you won't have the option for remote start through the Acuralink app, only the keyfob. Which is honestly better in my opinion as otherwise you'd be force to pay a subscription to Acuralink in order to use remote start. Yes it has range limitations because it's a fob, but honestly the range for the fob is pretty far.

That sucks. The app would be nice cause you could see how far along you are in the 10 minutes. Renewing the time limit would be quick and easy on the app. The FOB will work 90% of the time though so its not a big deal I guess. I just like techy stuff.

What about some of the other features I've seen in the app? Any of those work? Lock/unlock, vehicle status? Anything?

Those do but require a paid subscription. I agree the 10 minute timeout sucks, and the instructions aren't clear about the process for extending it for another 10 minutes. The manual gives you the impression that immediately after remote start you can follow the steps to extend for an additional 10 mins making it 20 mins total. However I'm pretty sure it only does the 10 minute extension from the time you execute the procedure. So if you remote start and then do the extension, it would be 10 mins from when you did the extension which means the car only runs for 10 mins total not 20 mins. If you wanted 20 mins you'd have to wait for the 10 min timer to about run out and then extend for another 10 mins. Guess I'll have to set a 10 min timer on my phone so i know how much time has lapsed.
