Thinking of getting a hybrid.
My wife has a 2018 Subaru outback limited that has an option to show her speed in a digital format and next to it is the posted speed limit. I think it gets the speed limit info from the Gps.
Does Acura have this capability ?

Nope. The MDX in-dash display is not that advanced. Although the speed display is a cute option, personally I see no value. Certainly a nice to have, but not necessary. How's the MDX stack up against the latest from Subaru, the Ascent? If at all.
On my wife's RLX, with the HUD display options, one option allows the posted speed to be displayed next to the actual speed on the windshield - I'll have to double-check. I typically use the hybrid status view be next to the actual car speed.
I know that this isn't pertinent to an MDX, but shows what Acura COULD do.....

You're right - it was the RDX Advance I drove that had it (I don't get to drive the wife's RLX very much). Sigh. Old Brain Cells. Sorry for the confusion. Anything that uses the "old" nav system will not have the speed limit info, but the new stuff like the RDX has it.....

Thanks for the information. Very helpful.
I currently have a 2016 pilot EXL and am in the process of finding a bit nicer vehicle to replace it with. Don't get me wrong, I really like the pilot but I am at a time and place to get a nicer car.
I have looked at and driven the Lexus 450h, Acura RDX, Acura Mdx and the MDX hybrid. I have also looked at the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Mazda Cx5 (great car)
I am leaning towards the Acura Hybrid. I plan on buying the 2020 model year. I realize that the MDX will be redesigned in 20201, but I like the way the interior is layed out in the current generation, and current tech is enough for me.
I am waiting to see what happens with the 2020s. Lexus has already rolled out that model year and they will be available this fall.

Unfortunately, the MDX doesn't have the display capabilities that the RLX has (which is what the picture shows). The MID in the MDX doesn't show digitally the actual speed nor the posted speed. As far as I know, only the HID in the RLX or the new RDX has any of that digital speed info. It's unfortunate that the MDX doesn't have any heads-up-display other than a flashing light on the windshield for the brake warnings..... (this was my fault in polluting the MDX post with RLX info...)
