beeping when rear door closed

sometimes if I open the rear door first and then close it, I get multiple rapid beeps
I thought it might be because headlights turned on when I opened it, but tonight I opened rear first and closed it and only got 1 beep and headlights were on

I know the door is closed completely - what is it trying to warn me of?

Not sure what you mean. I just checked my 2017. I locked the doors, then I opened the rear driver's side door. There was no beep. On another occasion, I closed the rear hatch and it gave multiple beeps and opened. Turned out the rear mat had moved to the rear and was interfering with the hatch.

Regards, Jim

it does rapid beeps when I close the rear door, but only sometimes. Its acting like the door has not shut properly, but it has.

If it's repeatable - did you run it by the dealer?

I only get multiple beep when I open and close doors and don't have the key fob on me. With the key in my pocket, I get only one beep. Note that I have Walk Away Lock abled.

Is your engine on when this rapid beeping occurs? Usually the rapid beeping = key fob not detected while engine is running. I usually stop the car from making those beeps by keeping a door slightly ajar (just sitting on the striker). It overrides the beeping this way.

nope - engine off. It was when I unlocked car at rear door to put my computer bag in the back seat on the floor before I opened driver door. Closed rear door and got multiple beeps. The door completely closed.
It has only happened a couple times. I'm wondering if the strap from the bag was in the way of the door closing and just put the sensor slightly off
