AC outlet

I thought our '17 MDX Sport Hybrid have an AC outlet in the trunk area. I checked and only saw a cigarette lighter 12V outlet. We're heading up to the mountain and was going to bring a water heater to make some hot cocoa. I guess we have to go get a DC to AC converter. Are those converter powerful enough to power a water heater appliance? Would it cause any issues to the Hybrid battery pack?

The 12V outlets are usually limited on power output. Plus they dont work unless the motor is running. You might be better off taking a couple thermouses of hot water with you. My Cousinart hot water pot is rated for 1500 watts, same as an electric heater. So IMHO not practical

The only cars with a 120 outlet are those with the entertainment package and Canadian models(according to my owners manual).

I would skip the inverter and get a 12v kettle.

All good suggestions, thanks guys! We don't go to the mountain very often, so a thermos with hot water fit our needs
