2020 MDX PMC - prices paid?
Guys,
One of the dealers somewhat near me has an MDX PMC on their showroom floor - has anyone had success getting a decent deal on one? I understand they are rare with the production limited to 300, but I just can't see people wanting the older style MDX now that the redesign 2021's are on the horizon... especially since I would "guess" that they will do a PMC version or similar with the new style.

I would have gone for the PMC MDX if it was a hybrid.

2020 Sport Hybrid Tech is on my radar...without negotiation they are at $44K plus TTL. For the PMC, they offered me $1K off (basically gave me free freight). I will see how anxious they are to make a deal towards the end of this month since the current loyalty incentives will be coming to a close.

MDX w/ SHAWD & Tech MSRP inc freight is $52,525. Finance with AFS and there is $5500 incentive money and another $2,000 for loyalty. Question, aside from these discounts if one were to negotiate with a dealer, what kind of discount is possible? I see a few posts where people claim to have bought for $40,250 for the car only. Any thoughts on possibility to get one for $39,500? Does Acura have stair step programs for dealers? TY

I used to work at So-Cal Acura dealer until recently, Acura doesn't do programs on the PMC models. At the time we had a TLX PMC and we could knock of tons of money off any TLX except that one they wanted sticker. But with MDX too the dealer gets very little profit on it even if they sold it at sticker. Only reason they would discount it is just to break even and move it off their lot. Even leasing was insane, a normal TLX was 350-550 range depending on package etc but PMC was probably 600-700 if I recall. (Numbers are made up don't hold me to it but you get the idea).
You have to really WANT that beautiful Valenica red pearl and like the fully loaded options. Its not a "good deal" car, its a "I want that car in my driveway" car. Otherwise you could get a Performance Red Pearl Aspec which looks basically the same, and only options its missing is 360 camera and rear heated seats, but it would cost you $10,000-$15,000 less.

Dealerships don't make so much on new cars like they used to. Unless they get a trade in at a low price they can make money that way. It has nothing to do with the PMC. The PMC just doesn't carry in factory incentive, so the dealer technically pays more for that car than a different MDX.
