I must say I am very impressed on how my new MDX sips fuel, compared to my 2011 MDX. On a recent trip through the mountains, I averaged 8.6 litres/100 km. This is equivalent to 27.5 miles per US gallon and 33 miles per Imperial gallon.
I was passing cars whenever there was a passing lane.
They do get pretty good mileage for what they are!
I've found that mine (a 2015 FWD) is a bit optimistic with the fuel economy readings though. Comparing the computer to actual fill up calculations on my last tank showed 21.8 mpg from the actual data, vs 23.5 mpg on the computer (lots of city driving, a few highway trips).

Hi Chris. I think the difference between the computer and calculations has to do with how much you fill the tank.
If I stop filling when the nozzle first clicks off, the calculations are the same. I I keep filling after the first click, I can get an extra gallon or more in which causes the calculations to differ.
The key is to be consistent. Stop at first click or always fill to the max.

Yep, I always stop at the first click and usually fill up at the same station. Can't get much more consistent than that! I'd heard the onboard computers were off, and (at least in my case) it seems to be true.
