2014 MDX front suspension driving me crazy!
2014 MDX front suspension driving me crazy!
Bought this car for my mom. Noticed there was a clunking sound coming from the front suspension when going over bumps. Replaced both front struts and tops caps got only slightly better. Replaced inner and outer tie rods, lower control arm, sway bar bushings and end links still clicking when going over bumps. Car has 100k miles. Sounds now like the clunking sound it coming from the top strut?
Same exact thing is happening to me on my 2014 FWD Advance. Mechanic told me it was the engine mounts and wants to replace all, but I only hear it coming from the right side, so I'm replacing the axle, struts, and right engine mount along with transmission mount (1). The mounts are very expensive so I'm just doing the side one.
I ended up changing all the mounts, and overhauling the whole front suspension. Struts, axles and sway bar links. 112K miles and we plan on keeping the car for years to come, so we invested in it. The mechanic said the noise was the struts, but pointed out that the other parts were worn. The engine/trans mounts ended up being the most costly with parts and labor but they were visibly worn. We hit 4 speed bumps every single day when we leave our development so that may have contributed to the wear.
